Haha I think there's a big difference between a grand gesture to try to CONVINCE someone to get back with you or stay with you -- vs. a grand gesture to demonstrate your affection and special care for someone with whom you have a relatively stable relationship. I think the latter is great, but the former... probably not going to end super well. I still love that we got these totally opposite reactions from the crew though 😂

I want to be able to see your faces for EVERY fireside. This is amazing. And I also totally understand and support why you don’t. ✨💜

Taylor Swift doing her first podcast appearance ever and talking about romantic gestures is 100% proof she’s a WBN patreon, heard Brennan’s story, and needed the world to know Abriya and Erika were right. No one can convince me otherwise!

Honestly my first response to hearing about the 20-something Daily Show guy was “what mature man was giving this advice in his TWENTIES?” But you know what, I’m with Erika and Abriya. 😂 Don’t stop a young man positively expressing feelings.

So stoked to have visuals even if it’s just a brief clip! Been getting treated in the hospital for 3 days for a post surgical infection, and clawing at the bits for new content to watch/listen to distract myself. I also really love that WBN remains a primarily audio media. Sharing these clips from time to time is juicy and fun, but there seems to be decreasing amounts of media that just do audio really well and don't clammer for our eyeball attention.

I love all these creators so much, but on this one I really want to push back. Context is so important. I have been in a relationship with big problems and big romantic gestures, and every time I thought "I don't want to say yes but if I say no after that I'm a monster". It was a long time with a lot of pain. Showing love for your partner is amazing, but this mentor had wise words. Is the gesture more for you or your partner? I said this on the main episode too but I'm hopping in here again because I feel really strongly about it.

It makes me So happy how amped Erika AND Aabria both get about the romantic gestures. At first I was like yeah dudes right that's true.....and then I thought about how few romantic/sweet things hetero cis dudes do/did until met the person I married.......it sucked! And it made me not engage with people who loved me I loved back in those ways for years and....that's sad. There days I don't believe in cringe and I lean into telling and showing people I love them

I will join the chorus of those saying that we respectfully would love to see faces more on the talkbacks specifically. not the actually podcast. let me have my imagination there. but for the talkback I really enjoy seeing the facial expressions talking about different plot points.

The way Erika visibly was holding her outrage in during the whole anti-gesture monologue was so funny. Like he started talking and they instantly looked like they had swallowed a lemon

My favorite thing is when Brennan or Lou will say something and then Aabria and Erika will telepathically mind link to respond with the exact same energy and insight. Same braincell.

im so cunfusedj by teh book/scrols/smell;open heart that Steels gives 2 Suvs and she had teh curse in there. it may have teh nasty hole in there 2? is it a book that HAS a scol that has a smell of Eurin and some one says its 2 smell like him TO trick if you really feel it and touch funny style then not sure how 5 ' short lil baddie 😂did not see it. i knowe amay loses her memory and if Steels DOES come them im really afraid that could teh war. i think its a block in my head lolol;lolol thanks!!!

Speaking of grand gestures I wanna come out and say it, I am deeply in love with Aabria's glasses. How can I comunicate my love to inanimated objects owned by someone I don’t personaly know, thousands of miles away?

Seeing Brennan appear to have laughed so hard that he jostled the old timey film strip he exists on, jettisoning himself into an inky void for but a moment, made me almost laugh myself to death. It’s the little things. 😂

This was one of my favourite bits from the fireside chat and it’s so satisfying to see it live!! 😆 (also I think that the advice is good but that if you then do actually reflect and WANT to fix things then a grand gesture is a dang good way to intentionally kick that off)
