Crescent Nebula (Full resolution download)

Please enjoy this free high resolution image I took of the Crescent Nebula in the constellation of Cygnus, the Swan . The images available on my Patreon are much higher resolution than what is available to the public on my social media accounts. I am uploading it in both horizontal and vertical format so it makes a nice wallpaper for your computer or phone screen :)

Consider subscribing to one of the paid Patreon tiers to get access to ALL of my other full resolution images. Such as my image of the Coma Cluster of galaxies which shows over 1000 galaxies.

Please see my Store above if you are looking for some beautiful high resolution images for prints. The images purchased for prints in the Store will not have any watermark or text on them and will come with a print release form which you can take to the print shop along with your image for printing.

This beautiful region of gas and dust lies 5000 light years away from Earth and was created when the fast moving stellar wind from the star in the center of the nebula collided with slower moving material ejected by the star a few hundred thousand years ago. The oddly circular Soap Bubble Nebula near the left edge of the image is the remains of a dead star much like our sun. This image was taken from my backyard in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada.
