Megumi: On the Movements of the Earth

Yuji has definitely become one of my favorite MC ever since season 2 and season 3 is just making me love him more!
Yuji was embodying his inner Si-eun and Thorfinn taking all those punches
I have a general idea of how Kirara’s technique works, but with this show it’s always hard to fully grasp lol. It also doesn’t help that the fights are 99% just explaining what’s going on, but I know that’s a common criticism everyone has.
Kirara is so cool
Btw you guys forgot to tag this video with J.J.K tag
He IS depressed, remember back to his mental in episode 1 or 2 of this season when fushiguro had that talk after he was revived by yuta. The only way he can get himself to continue on is to view himself as a necessary cog in the curse exorcising machine
Zoro’s Voice actor is one of the greats of the industry. Glad you recognising his quality, McKay.
where is brig?
He left the channel like 6 months ago he got a job opportunity
yeah I share the same sentiment as Carter with itadori sounding so depressed calling himself a cog in the machine. He definitely has that same character arc as Geto pre and post amanai. Also remember that episode when fake Geto used idle transfiguration and talked about making pacts with older sorcerers so that they come back to life
Correction, this season or rather ‘culling games: part 1’ will only have 12 episodes and there’s no news about when part 2 will be coming. With the way these things usually go, I’d guess we won’t get part 2 until at least Q4 of this year. So yeah, only 6 episodes left of this season unfortunately.
Glad Kirara's technique involved the only constellation I knew as its on our flag 🇦🇺 It was cool to figure her technique by guessing cos I knew it had 5 stars.
Yep, same here. Aussie knowledge coming in clutch 😂🇦🇺✊
I was hoping Megumi would just prostrate himself during initial opening but glad it played out how it did, another great episode with characters and plot playing out nicely, and that character tease at the end.
these episodes go by too quick and it sucks.
I feel like the cog conversation is looking back at that fight with Mahito where he talks about “I am you”. That he kills curses because that’s just what jujutsu sorcerers do
Jack just creating his own lore for Sukuna there at the end
The goat is here
Bro I didn’t realize it was releasing at 11:30a eastern, I thought it was noon this whole time
Kashimo got beef with Sakuna? i'm not sure he wants the smoke lmao
kashimo looks so sick i fw bro already just based on character design lmaoo
Btw Kashimo’s VA is: Bokuto, Kise(Kuroko basket), and Kohei(Grand blue dreaming).
Finally a man of culture
Totally lost on the constellations but utterly fascinating ✨
Also can’t believe the amount of new and toxic commentators I’ve seen in this comment section compared to the last few episode uploads. JJK fans only being interested in the fights and hype aren’t beating the allegations 🤦♂️
Manga readers, please just keep things to yourself. All the information you know and are sharing was clarified for you in the manga as it will be for us eventually in the anime. So please just be patient and let us all learn and figure it out for ourselves naturally as intended by the writer.
My fellow Australians rise for the southern cross 🇦🇺🫡😤
holy fucking spoilers in the comments just stfu
Ngl i scrolled through the entire section and didn't see any spoilers. Most people are just clarifying information the anime explains but maybe people get a bit lost in the sauce.
Kashimo just made his first appearance on anime and loads of accs changed their pfp into now lmao
Cant wait for the kashimo fight man
676767676767676767😵💫676767676767🫨
Kashimo appearance? LET THE SLANDER BEGIN
not Megumi lurking in the shadows
Did I miss an update? We’re watching openings now?? This just a JJK thing or everything
GOD this series hits so hard
Kashimo is human, same as Sukuna. They sealed their souls in to cursed objects and have been awoken once consumed, Kenjaku placed these objects in numerous people and then awakened them at the end of Season 2. Kashimo has simply taken over someone's body, Yuji for some reason is built different and Sukuna can't take over his body at will. Kenjaku says at the end of season 2 "It's almost like releasing 1000 Yuji Itadori's". Some Culling game Sorcerers are people like Junpei, regular people who's brains aren't wired to have a CT but have awoken one because of Idle Transfiguration, others are people Kenjaku placed the souls of Anicent Sorcerers in. Just to clarify, this isn't spoilers, It's all information the anime has given us, the show dumps a lot of information at once sometimes and it can be hard to keep up with.
when was this information revealed?
Starting next episode things are going to really start heating. Ep 8 about to be generational. The way they are enhancing the manga material is insane this season
Change your name, so immature. You're bringing bad name to the fandom
Cannon is right Sukuna alongside the other ancient sorcerers who were awakened are human they were humans then turned into cursed objects by Kenjaku effectively like a horcrux and then were fed to people who would then serve as their vessel. Yuji is unique in the fact that he's so built different that he can hold back Sukuna from taking him over.
"This is the craziest technique" Wait until Hikaris lmfao
THE MOMENT KASHIMO SPOKE I COMBUSTED
My goat zipzap
Now that you guys watch the openings, season 2s opening had more and more people missing as the episodes and deaths went on and eventually everyone was missing which was a cool detail (felt like dropping a Easter egg lmao)
Kashimo wants that smoke
Kirara is a baddie bro
Remember Yuji called himself that when he was talking to Mahito after he beat him also Sukuna is human just like Kenjaku..they just found a way to live longer
Brother, I also hope they animate his technique well 😂
Yuji thought he was Thorfinn you not him lil bro 😭 “I have no enemies” ah strategy
Yuji better written then thorfinn
You can see Kashimo standing in water. In JJK, water and humidity carry a lot of symbolism. Grates, sewers, and underground channels appear constantly. In the manga, almost every Black Flash happens either in water or above a sewer or grate. Gojo even says humidity plays a role in triggering Black Flash. He also mentions, “Crossing a river or a barrier holds significant meaning in jujutsu.” My theory is that some form of energy transfer happens in these moments. I can’t fully pin it down, mainly because JJK is deeply rooted in Buddhist concepts, which makes the symbolism more layered and complex.
If Kirara had the six eyes, would she be a special grade lol.
Good I'm cracking her
Elite caption
Jack on your question about Hajime Kashimo - unless I've misunderstood something, this Kashimo guy is probably one of the cursed objects that Kenjaku made a pact with, and the body he's currently in will be one of the non-sorcerers that Kenjaku used idle transfiguration on to turn into vessels. So I think the cursed object probably took over the body and just knows of Sukuna. Don't see how they could've met because Sukuna "died" 1000 years ago and this Kashimo guy was 400 years ago. Maybe he just wants to find Sukuna because he knows he's the strongest? It does go to show just how special Yuji is tho,I know they mentioned he's 1 in a million, but he is able to withstand his body being overtaken by not just anyone but the strongest sorcerer of all time like it's nothing. Whereas every cursed object that has gone into these new vessels have most likely taken over the host bodies.
Sukuna was long deceased before kashimo was born. Sukuna is the strongest throughout history, he's know by all sorcerers. Just like modern day gojo, everyone knows him
AARRRGH I HATE WAITING WEEK TO WEEEEK
Hakari in this episode made me feel some things…
Jack sukuna is not a curse, hes a human sorcerer that got reincarnated, just like several other culling game players. Kenjaku is also a human.
Yuji changed his ideals after shibuya, which is not suprising tbh, but he still hold his grandpa's final words that he needs to die surrounding people he love.
I love the car explosion and how it explodes leaving an bonfire behind Hakari as he was talking about how Itadori has to show him the passion to convince him to put his life at stake for their request (Fire resembles his heated passion)
I love how Megumi’s strategy involves figuring out this complicated constellation technique, meanwhile Yuji’s is just, “I’ll let him punch me in the face until he listens” 😭
When I was reading a megumi analysis on twitter, I was mindblown to know how kirara's technique symbolises megumi and tsumiki. So subtle yet beautiful.
GoatShimo has arrived🔥
Thanks Geks! Cancel Cannon!
Kashimo my goat
He’s him
yuji feels like he's a cog because he is still upset with himself about the shibuya incident. that's why he didn't mind getting punched by hikari, he's still dealing with that tragedy even if it looks like he's mostly healed
haraki
not the chat saying she has temu limitless 😂
Lol temu limitless is crazy
2 fan favorite character introductions in 1 episode, can't wait bro
The southern cross as a constellation is an odd choice considering it's barely visible in the northern hemisphere. Perhaps low on the horizon in southern Japan
I think Japan is one of the rare few places where it can be seen in the southern hemisphere
It is defo depressing to see Yuji like that, he's the mc but he doesn't see himself that way ironically. Like other ppl said in the comments he came to this conclusion in the Choso and Mahito fight, he doesn't need to be the one save Gojo or "everyone" as long as he can do his part and contribute to the bigger mission by exorcising as many curses as possible so that's his purpose from now on. Convincing Hakari to join them in order to save Megumi's sister and stop Kenjaku is his role as a cog.
another GOAT Kashimo and guys dont let the chat lie to you please HE is STRONG he on the same level as yuta and hakri even maybe higher then both em combine
Ehh I wouldn’t say stronger than them combined
"Chill, girls chill" UM I like my men grown thank you very much although Megumi is looking more like his daddy everyday (my daddy too) anyways Hii Kashimo 🤭 his voice actor is Bokuto from Haikyuu btw
Thank you Kirara 🥹
The way they used the soundtrack from Megumis domain expansion in S1🤌🏼
Megumi best boi
Every sorcerer that is from the past, like Hajime Kashimo, is basically yuji but if sukuna was always in control, all the time. This also includes that Angel women I think. Sukuna I believe is from farther back then 400 years ago, so I believe that guy has no direct connection to Sukuna.
The Megumi abs 😩it was not that crazy in the manga but I am not complaining
Kashimoo
KASHIMOOOO
Idk if you guys know this but at the very end of the episode after the credits, you get a teaser of the next episode but it's unrendered animation
I literally was Panda during that whole scene 😔
HAHAHAHAHA OMG im just getting this 💀😂😂😂😂 cause hes laying there holding his legs spread haahahahahahahahaha
My brain is like... struggling to connect Kashimos voice to his face lol. Is it just me?
MEGUMI is literally him, people underestimate him TOO MUCH
NO FR It's hard being a Megumi fan with all the slander he be getting 😭
I think the schedule for JJK s3 is part 1, 12 eps, break during the spring anime season, then JJK s3 part 2, 12 eps
Hakari kindaaa 😳😳👀👀👀👀 😛😛😛😛😛😛😛
Yesssss🤭🤭 The way he was holding Kirara last episode, good lord👀
🐺 😈
KASHIMO IS HERE! Bro he is perf
“Maygoomi” 😭
Also megumi my fkn goat 🧠🧠🧠 if this sorcery stuff doesn't work out we gonna book you a plane to a Western cursed energy free country and get you a scholarship somewhere. Free tsumiki then it's white collar time, u too smart to be risking ur life like this I got the general gist of Kirara's technique but had to pause a couple times to get the full grasp. Then this spiky haired 15 year old just rocks up and shows me that there's really levels to this shit 🤣🤣
megumi is wayyy smarter than what ppl give him credit for cause the way he figured that out was crazy
Cannon you're pushing 30, put those hands down...
Whats wrong w pushing thirty huhhhhh???? 🤨
This battle technique is giving a taste of what you can expect in a certain, bizarre anime you'll be watching soon 😉
LMAOOOO the “chilllll girls chilllll” 😂😂😂
Carter knows his audience lol
Dont get me wrong, Kirara is on the strangest side (techniques-wise), but trust me when I say this, youre in for a ride with future techniques XD
I sweeear! some future techniques felt like they took pages to explain XD I had to push up my glasses, lean forward, and lock in to understand some of them hahaha
This ep was an emotional rollercoaster man. Take me back to season 1 Yuji, I hate seeing my darg like this 💔💔💔
#BIGKARI #LEVELS
I love the diversity of Techniques in JJK really, with the whole "explaining it makes it stronger bc it allows the opponent an advantage to scheme up a roundabout", where there are also techniques like Kirara's Love Rendezvous and Naoya's Projection Sorcery, where the rules of their techniques is essential to be kept secret, let alone needing to raise efficiency.
YES EXACTLY!! makes for really interesting approaches depending on the technique
Upload caption is insane work.
In season 2 when Yuji finally defeats Mahito, he says "I'm just a cog". He accepts what his role is, someone who's there to kill cursed spirits. That's why he tells Mahito, next time you respawn I'll kill you again. I think the point of Hakari and Yuji's interaction here is to highlight the differences between Yuji's motivation and every other sorcerer. Most of the sorcerers are motivated by personal reasons, like "passion" protecting family like Megumi, being "the strongest" like Gojo, or greed like Mei Mei. Yuji's motives are altruistic, he fights evil curses without passion because that's his role.
The cog dialogue was a direct callback to Yuji's shift in character at the end of his fight with Mahito last season. Here's the relevant dialogue from Yuji: "I'll accept it, Mahito. I am you. I wanted to reject you. I wanted to pretend I didn't understand what you said. But that's different now. I'll just kill you. And if you're ever reborn again as a new curse, I'll kill you then, too. You can change your name and change your appearance, but I'll still kill you again and again. I don't need meaning or a reason for it anymore. Maybe there will be some meaning to be found from my actions several centuries after I'm dead. But I'm sure I'm just... one big cog in the wheel. And I'll keep on killing curses until I rust away. Because that is my role in this war." You guys were definitely right in that his motivation was saving as many people as he could (guiding them to a proper death), but Sukuna's insane spree was a major contributor in him realizing that his ideals were impossibly difficult to achieve.
i think i read somewhere they were gonna split the season in two, with part 2 coming later this year, sooo the 24/25 might be the total amount carter
Flashes of Megumi and Tsumiki, ow
Kirara’s technique is so sick, it would be a problem for anyone that doesn’t have as much intelligence and/or experience as someone like Megumi
But that’s how losers think 😼
"Does a cog have such passion in their eyes?", great juxtaposition
Have you seen someone who clings to the coldest life-draining job/purpose so strongly?
Woah. Carter gets Yuji!
the blue haired twunk is finally here
I was not ready to see Kashimo already at the end. This season is cookingggg!! I'm actually feening for next week to finally see my man animated if ykyk
I will be a changed person next week
Cog mentality is a very dehumanizing way to scrap the last of self value for Yuji, which I think also shows how much "saving people" really means to him after his granddad died. Ironically had he not swallowed sukuna's finger, he would still have been quite depressed and lost from not having a purpose either.
Which also makes me think that is such an interesting choice of a Protagonist to drive the story forward in every scenarios, the MC is moving forward not because there is a goal to prove themselves, but in a search to find a purpose of living, it's depressing but non shallow, and those actions resembling that ideal just hits like a damn truck.
All the New Zealand and Australians chuffed seeing the Southern Cross mentioned 😤 got that shit on our flags
KASHIMO IS HERE!!!
EXACTLY
lets kick cannon out who told him to do that
if you think Kiraras technique is crazy JUST WAIT
Idk what happened but I originally put the caption as "Rafal would KILL for this"
Right Kirara’s technique
Tbh I didn’t completely understand the specifics of kirara’s technique while I was reading the manga so the visuals definitely help in the anime 😂
To expound on rotoscoping - you can usually tell when an animation is rotoscoped precisely because of how detailed the little motions and what not are in the animation. By projecting the film onto the animation sheets, you're able to basically trace those real life motions with a super high degree of accuracy that is hard to achieve freehanding it. Cool thing about rotoscoping is that it's around a century old now and it's always resulted in really high end animation even that early on. Max Fleischman (the inventor) used it to create animated Superman serials back in the 30s (maybe 40s) that look insanely good for something of that era. Created the apparatus to make it possible and rotoscopes have been a staple of animation and visual effects houses around the world. Might be a fun idea for you guys to watch those serials sometime. One episode even has a giant lizard/dragon monster in it that became the inspiration for what would become Godzilla.
Not sure where Carter got that source but this season ends March 27, confirmed for 12 episodes. It's a split cour, they're probably doing Part 2 summer at the earliest but potentially even later.
I would assume this time next year again for Part 2.
Peak
