if you re-watch the fight, you'll notice that every time the demon girl gets a good hit on stark its with a downward swing or using the weight of the axe itself to do damage - the last time she hits him she has to swing upwards, where she can only use her own strength instead, and doesnt hit nearly as hard. thats what he means by her attacks not having any weight behind them & how he was able to tank it!
