From light lands

Honestly I wanted to write about it on the moment when I got my visa, but I decided that rejoice too much before my trip would to be a bad omen, so I decided to write about it when my trip will over. Now, when I got to Austria, I can to write about it)

So: at 28th of March I got visa. I applied for 180 days but got for 90 days only and only by a big luck. Unfortunately EU gives visas without big pleasure, so this creates some addition troubles for collecting of all documents. (But this is another little story)
Russian Government also don't want to lose its workers, wich also adds problems for getting visa -__-
It is really sad situation when both sides don't have enthusiasm to help you -__-

What about trip itself:
I did gone to Tallinn by a bus, and then, from airport to Vienna where i was warmly met by my friend who accommodated me in his home ^_^

What about my plans:
At this moment my visa allows me to stay here for three month and i really hope this will be enough and this war will end.
If not... honestly i don't sure I'm ready to talk about it at this moment...
Anyway, I am sure, all will be good^_^

I have to say: I think you should avoid going back to Russia if possible. Once applied, sanctions tend to stay for a long time, and I think quality of life in Russia will get worse for years to come, unfortunately

This is good news! So happy you were able to get yourself to a safer place, but from here you can try other things in the meantime, even traveling further, though I can imagine moving around so much can be difficult in itself. You're right though, it's not a thing you want to think about, but planning ahead in case such a thing might happen is a good idea, so I wish you best on that. I'm not sure what the process is, but you can always try applying for a visa extension or possibly a visa in another country?

Great to hear you were able to get out! Also, not sure why I wasn't supporting you on here before this, but rectified and will do so for at least the summer.

Be well, man. It doesn't look like Russia can really keep the war going. They are losing too quickly militarily and economically.

Yakovlev-vad · April 3, 2022

I also hope for this, but I afraid that In russia all decisions makes only one person. And this person don't afraid of sanctions, he have all despite the fact of sanctions. I hope his entourage, accustomed to living in luxury, will influence to him, or do something with him at least >_<

Congrats on making it out, and being able to stay somewhere safe. Enjoy a few weeks break before having to plan on what to do next. Here's hoping everything will have started to calm down by then...

Great news! You're definitely in goods hand in Vienna. :) If you need help after the first 90-day period expires, let me know and I'll try to help as much as possible. Especially if you're considering moving to another country after the 90 days will have expired.

Scratch that, don't come here, it isn't safe anymore. The Putin-supporting government just won the parliamentary elections with a super-majority, meaning they can do whatever the fuck they want. I'm going to leave my country as well. :'(

I'm really happy for you that it worked out somehow fine, even if not for as long as desired.! ^-^ I also pray that in the coming months this nightmare will hopefully come to an end. But only the future will tell us. But I don't think there's any point in worrying about it, if things will eventually work themselves out for the better. ^-^

I'm honestly suprised it's lasted this long... Things will almost always go back to the way they were. Humans don't like to change, like seriously, kicking and screaming levels of refusal.

Great! I'm so relieved to know that you managed to get out of Russia for now. If you ever find yourself in Italy, just let me know!
