Given that you started remaking old stories, could I suggest one?(sorry if I’m giving too many suggestions)
I was very confused at the end until I realized "fell" meant "arrived" not "fell down and crushed a bunch of stuff".
It reminds me of “The Fire Eggs” by Darrell Schweitzer.
