Modern please. Your modern work can't be touched by other creators. Your modern creations make sense and their functional. Like the book shelf and fireplace should also be an entertainment center for tv placement with that modern style. I only know of one other creator that did a modern version that I liked but others miss the mark. Your alpha cc should be modern in my opinion for its realism to be appreciated. Maxis match is the classical vibe.
I'm switching all my CC to Maxis Match, but I tend to use both aesthetics, depending on what the build requires. I'd never use a modern/contemporary CC set on my Brindleton Bay yatch club or my Henford-on-Bagley country club, but I'd never use my old money/traditional CC sets on a San Myshuno modern penthouse or a Del Sol Valley nightclub.
Chippendale, Hepplewhite, Duncan Phyffe, Ming vases, Stiffle Brass lamps, matelasse, damask, leather only on chairs, dark wood: cherry, mahogany, Yes, these are hard to do, which is why they are beautiful.

1st one is giving messy gossip girl thanksgiving dinner scene, second one is fresh from shopping trip/ presidential suite.
I like both. But the 2nd definitely need way more character
