December Week 5 - NEW YEARS Update

Hey, yall! Happy New Years to all who is coming with me into 2026!

Really IMPORANT NEWS to share so we're not shocked or surprised by anything going into 2026. Unfortunately, it's not all good news but we want to air it out and be super transparent with you all.

  • Version 0.22.5 instead of 0.23: We'll be releasing a 'half' version or a minor update this coming January 3rd instead of the promised 0.23. This is because I had unfortunately gotten pretty sick during the tail end of this month and I haven't been able to be at my desk to draw or code. Even now, I'm still too weak and fatigued to work which bums me out to hell.

The timing is terrible because I really did want to get a lot more work done in between Xmas and New Years but that's very unlikely to happen. I'll provide everyone with a minor update but I'm unsatisfied with calling it a new major update.

The main reason for doing so is that so people still get an updated version that provides a few bug fixes and Quality of Life fixes but also future free users won't be stuck with a dissatisfying 0.23 update.

  • A change to H-scene count: I'm changing the monthly update H-scene count from it's current count of 6x H-scenes per month to 5x and capping it at 5. The amount of work required just for that is taking away too much time from other areas of the game.

After having introduced the new house, the workload multiplied and although I did plan to add this new content at the very conception of the game, I didn't fully expect how many H-scenes would actually be in the game at this point. It's too demanding if I keep multiplying asset tasks at this current pace.

I don't know if that makes sense from a non-developer point of view but I think this is the right move for us, if you don't like it, you can take it up with my boss.

The game currently has 100+ scenes and 50-60 new ones a year is still a really good, healthy pace but we're not going to be adding more to the supporter milestone.

  • A change to card CG count: To counteract the decreased H-scenes, we're increasing the number of card CGs we'll add each month from its current 3x to 4x. And with each new Patreon milestone (if we somehow magically reach them), we'll add more of that as a reward.

We want to commission more artists and have the cards done at a quicker pace and we much prefer providing that over the time it takes to do more H-scenes. I hope ya'll understand the decision behind this.

  • A big THANK YOU: Only 1 year ago, we had 427 supporters and today, we have almost quadrupled that! We were the 11th highest rated adult game on itchio, and 45th in the whole site.

Today, we're the 2nd highest rated adult game and the 3rd highest rated game on the entire site! That's a huge achievement that I have all of you to thank for. It brings such a tear to my eye and makes me warm that sooo many people love and believe in Sugar Service like how I do.

2026, we'll keep aiming for the stars and we'll ensure you have the some of the best adult gaming experience to come!

Thank you again, everyone! You mean the world to me, thanks for being an awesome crowd of passionate players, let's keep it going for the new year!

The flu this year is no joke. Put me in the hospital for 3 days so I totally get why you need to rest. Get better soon.

Happy new year when it comes!!! It's all good I'm glad you're putting your health first. Continuing to over work would eventually take a massive toll on your health and that's the last thing I'd want so it's understandable
