Medieval CC - Illuminated Manuscript TV

There are plenty of TVs disguised as décor floating around the internet, but I wanted an in-game explanation for why my sims would stare at a picture, apparently dumbstruck, for hours at a time. What rare and valuable item could 1) induce awe in a medieval person, and 2) bestow wisdom by osmosis? Why, an illuminated manuscript of course!

The "TV" features pages from The Stockholm Codex Aureus, an 8th-century Gospel book that was – get this – ransomed by Vikings.

The opening page of the book of Matthew (shown above) contains a note added in the 9th century, detailing the time the manuscript was stolen by a pillaging pagan army. An Anglo-Saxon ealdorman named Aelfred and his wife Wærburh had to pay a ransom to get it back; they later donated it to the monastic community at Canterbury. How did your sim get their hands on it? Good question!
