Getting back into modding...hopefully

These days the new EP came out, and I was a bit excited about it, I said to myself "Oh great, a new EP with a new interesting feature (Soul's Journey), maybe that will be done well. I'll wait for the EP and test and update everything then...." but that quickly fade off when exploring the new features of the pack and more.

I launch the updated game with the new pack.

I explore the new CAS features and looked if there were any new likes and dislikes. There is a new activity preference called "Thanatology".

That's awesome, I think! Let's put it to my new Sim.

I check the new traits, they seem cool, the new chased by death seems CHALLENGING, but get upset we don't have a thing like Sim challenges like the well known lot challenges in buy mode since we only have 3 trait slots to personalize our Sims.

Anyway, I create my Sim and start checking things out. I quickly see if the new preference works....and it doesn't...for the second time in a row...LIKE THE LOVESUCKS PACK, WHICH INTRODUCED THE ROMANCE SKILL ACTIVITY PREFERENCE, THEY CREATED A NEW ACTIVITY PREFERENCE FOR IT TO BE USELESS!🤦‍♂️

Dislikes Thanatology, really? I don't see any tension anyway.

Ok, I also see the Clean and Dusty buffs from Buff the Dust have timers now for some reason (which I like), but, DID THEY ACTUALLY PUT A HIDDEN BUFF FOR COMPLETING ASPIRATIONS WHEN THOSE BUFFS GETS REMOVED? The answer is no...so they broke the 2 aspirations which you can basically only complete if you have the now 1 hour buff of clean and dusty sorroundings visible...great!

Didn't they already fix it by making it a Fine buff??? Why they did go back and "fixed" it again by adding timers???

Show Off Your Clean House to Guests and Throw a Party Social Event in a Clean House are semi-broken with the patch + they still haven't fixed objectives not completing for Slob Sims!

Whatever, I already fixed it in my tweak some months ago fortunately, so I check the new awesome Soul's Journey feature...just to be again disappointed. SHOULDN'T THOSE OBJECTIVES BE ALL VERY LONG-TERMISH?? WHY WE HAVE THINGS LIKE "BIKE FOR 2 HOURS IN A WORLD WHERE YOUR SIM DOESN'T LIVE???" YOU CAN COMPLETE IT VERY FAST...🤦‍♂️OR "TELL 5 SIMS YOU ARE LACTOSE INTOLERANT".....WTF?????? and also the tuning to reach the end of the "journey" seems to be done with short lifespan in mind because even if you complete 10 wants, you already have completed 1 "block" of it, and gets worse with the countless tutorial aspirations, especially the very early milestones that you can complete in minutes and reward you with half a block.

So, after seeing all that (and also the poor excuse they used to not put snow in the new world) I just turned off the game and right now I'm trying to find motivation again to update my mods and maybe fix the Soul's Journey thing. The lack of care EA has for this game throws me more and more away from it, lol.
