The Ares Fall v0.12a Public
Hey everyone,
This update ended up being much bigger than I originally planned. The final Patreon version reached 45,000+ new words with a lot of branching, which is the main reason it took me so long to put everything together. A lot has changed under the hood, not just the new content.
Major changes
Two game modes are now available from the very beginning:
Casual Mode – save anywhere, optional mini-game skips, designed for players who mainly want to enjoy the story.
Classic Mode – a simplified version of the original experience that keeps the intended gameplay balance.
Three separate profiles have been added. Each profile has its own save files and game mode, so you can start a fresh playthrough without deleting your previous saves.
Your existing saves should automatically migrate into the first Casual profile. But dont' forget, that saves there are standard manual saves. If anything goes wrong with migration or saves you can always jump directly to the latest update using the Start → To New Content option.
Mini-game skip is now available in Casual Mode. Skipping applies a small random stat debuff as a tradeoff. I decided not to lock this feature behind Patreon after reconsidering it.
The Gallery is still not available. I'm honestly not sure whether I want to add one yet because of how it would affect the game's progression and overall design. If I eventually implement it, it'll work similarly to how HSP handled it during development.
I've finally reorganized all Patreon tiers and clearly explained which tiers receive access to The Ares Fall and when.
HSP Fan Route 0.1 is now available as a free download.
