Tim aka @burgerdrome is back! We'll be talking to him about unions again, so anything that didn't get covered in the last episode (or it did but it only raised more questions) should get asked about right here in the comments!

In the past, unions have achieved annual leave, maternity leave, overtime pay and uniform allowances among many other things. What's next for unions? Broader inclusion of domestic violence leave?
Why was this massive union merger allowed to happen? Did someone at the Fair Work Commission fuck up and accidentally do something good, or is there a catch?
the queensland police union head is very quick to talk about the officers who shot and killed someone and their well being and mental anguish, but doesn't mention the person shot or their family. this happens routinely. Are the police unions Bad Unions and should they be distrusted the same way cops are? what about the police credit union or is that far removed from the whole thing?
I'm looking forward to hearing what burgerdome has turned up as far as workers co-ops go.
I too am looking forward to this.
hey, online. i was motivated to look into unionising by that episode but my turgid throbbing bone for worker's rights deflated when I found out I was best covered by the SDA. my questions are, why are the shoppies so bad? Are they as deliberately evil as they seem or merely inept? Is there an alternative for the humble hospo that doesn't involve throwing money into a bin-fire? How can the SDA redeem themselves? Can they be redeemed? please, rekindle the my hope to join the worker's paradise.
I was halfway through writing a leading question to prompt them into talking about how much of a dick Joe Bullock was but now I don’t have to!
Is Beef Wellington posh or not?
What's the reason behind TCFUA joining the CFMEU-MUA merger and not merging with AMWU (which seems like a more natural sector ally)? What level of democratic control do individual union members and individual unions have over state and federal Trades Halls campaigns? What sort of events should Trades Halls be running to engage younger people and general activists in union activities? Being in a state that doesn't have a May Day march, what other white collar lunch break friendly event could we run on May Day? How good at the AMWU? Just like generally.
(sorry about having so many questions I just really love solidarity :') )
Considering the strikes happening in West Virginia at the moment, are we moving toward a landscape less focussed on union membership and more focussed on grassroots organisation? In the case of WV, everything seems to be coordinated constantly on a Facebook group, as opposed to weekly meetings obeying a traditional hierarchy of representation, answering to each other democratically instead of to one union leader
No question at this time, just stopping by to say g'day and thanks for all the great content on P&Cb, Tim!
