I just saw someone describing Halifax on my Mastodon feed as (paraphrasing): You ask if this house is haunted, and someone will tell you "Well it served as a makeshift morgue for the victims of the Halifax Explosion, and then it became a retirement home and hospice for nuns where a lot of nuns died - so it's much less haunted than the average."
