Yep. For a long time, I thought I was immune to toxic masculinity having grown up around it and recognized it for what it was fairly early on, and then I realized that most of my problems were actually internalized toxic masculinity. A decade later and I'm still working through that crap.
Honestly, even though I have 100% been Elliot more times than I can count (in my defense I don't make enough money to afford therapy), I totally get Yay's seething here.
Hard agree with Yay here. Definitely don't want our big Soft Boi to harden up just to conform with outdated models of masculinity. Gotta keep the hunky dough boi fluffy and light. <3

Well, yes. This is one of the ways that people unfamiliar with computers behave badly around them. Most computer keyboards are actually incapable of sending signals properly to indicate all of the buttons are pressed. (The exact limit varies, and it's not just which keyboard but which specific keys you're attempting to press together.) To be fair, under normal usage, pressing more than a few buttons at once isn't particularly useful.

I have been Elliot (sometimes I still am). But I've also been Yay - and it's just as hard to want someone you care for to help themselves, as it is to recognize you need help and get it for yourself.

Here’s a hot take. I don’t actually disagree with yay that Elliot should seek help, but what is it about him not wanting therapy/psych meds that’s so different from Roko’s issue with dysphoria?
I think the real important difference is that there is no medication for Bubbles and Roko. Everything they have they're going to have to work out through psychotherapy. Also I have the impression in my head that Roko is going to therapy, but that might just be an assumption on my part.
And now that it's out there, one really has to wonder if Yay *has* been trying to create said worm hole to go back in time.
