Pfft cows turn themselves inside out all the time
I'm seeing a major intestine on one shoulder, and a hoof on the other, and I'm trying desperately to envision the turn (pun intended) of events that had to have transpired.
Gore cw woulda been nice :(
Yeah, that dislocated finger made my stomach turn, urgh.
How to tell I've been playing Diablo3 recently: I immediately tried to envision the 'bot as one of those spinny things from the Dhalgur Oasis.
Haha a paperclip for Basilisk. Good for getting CDs out of drives without powering them on, too. XD
I want to work for these people.
I feel bad for the cow. Hitting a dear usually damages a car badly. Cows are bigger than deer. Robots are smaller than cars. What is this robot made of anyway? Why does this robot have so little affect about killing an animal accidentally?
How do you know that the robot killed a cow " accidentally"? It's possible that the robot's *job* is killing cows, and being covered in blood and guts is a daily occurrence. She just bumped into a cow in a weird way while working, and dislocated a finger. Hence how casual she is about needing to be hosed off.
For the old Jeph, I would have taken the gag as-written. But for the new Jeph, I would suspect there's some thought going on in the background about dangerous robots, cattle slaughter (cows aren't cheap!), an angry farmer, and Roko's former associates like O'Malley lurking around.
"Bumped" .. I am highly uncomfortable with the level of disconnect between that word and the results.
Right? Like, was she in a vehicle, or does she secretly have Bubbles-tier strength and forgot about it?
"& a paperclip to reset Basilisk." 😂
I have been laughing for 2 minutes about that and I suspect will be for a while yet.
I notice that Roko reacted to the disembodied robot arm, was surprised but otherwise unaffected by the cow gore, then fainted at the dislocated finger.
In the same way that we could be merely surprised at the sight of wires and metal parts, but faint when facing a bloody hand.
Ye gods, that offal! 😣
No! Bad!
That cow had it coming.
Not sure a paperclip will work, better call Elliot for a fresh croissant to bring her around.
Might be consent issues there...
Holy cow. Srsly. Talk about "bodily integration"...
And, in Roko's case, the total loss thereof.
You know, it would be kind of amusing if her name was Kattel D'estroyer or something like that.
Poor cow. =(
It should have moooooved.
I'm somehow glad to see that the immensely high-tech world of QC still has paperclip resets.
That's a very cute model of robot. Shame about all the gore
That's an amount of gore I never expected to see in this comic. Not that it's bad, just surprising.
Indeed. Questionable, even, one might say. My headcanon is that the cow was already being butchered, or was at least already deceased, and you cannot convince me otherwise.
Anyone else hear the pac man dying sound when Roko passed out?
Don't think of it as blood, think of it as rad sprays
I'm beginning to think that androids and robots make up more than half the character population of QC now.
They're certainly going to have a disproportionate presence in the AI repair shop.
She's pretty sure it was a cow, everything was kind of a blur. It might have been a pantomime horse.
Well, that leg so elegantly draped over her shoulder does look more like a horse hoof than a cow hoof (cow hooves are split in two roughly equal size parts). Though it might just be the angle.
I had to reread the paperclip part, then it clicked and I swore at the memory of those annoying buttons on every router ever.
That is a powerful thoughtless robot. Here's hoping cows are all shes been bumping into.
At least the cow is the only recognizable part of the gore. Maybe there were more bumps on the way to the shop.
Poor Roko....
