The director saw Moray was experimenting with new hair and body shapes and gave her a menu along with an OS update. It just accidentally defaulted to purple cause the director was playing with the settings.

Now that makes me wonder, if you activate the woom device on other days of the week, will you get other colors of the spectra? :D
Liz will eventually realize, given the landscape of scientific talent surrounding her, that basically any paper she writes will earn a Nobel Prize.

As much as it sucks to have one’s colour involuntarily changed by a woom device, i do think the purple looks quite aesthetic on mooray.

I guess because of time zones their Tuesday activations have probably also been Monday or Wednesday activations somewhere, depending on the time of day.

Also, I think this was something that happened on am episode of ST:TNG. The last one, if memory serves. Geordi's eyes started working as a result of something Picard did that nearly erased humanity from the multiversal Stack (and would have done so if he hadn't figured out how to coordinate action across the Stack and into gridfire itself to identify the problem and fix the damage...) I was only slightly concerned about the whoom device previously. Now upon seeing the scientists operating the machine I am slightly terrified.
Enigmatic WOOM device? Do even they have any idea what it does? Or did the Director just hand them a schematic, and they just assumed it needed building and operation? For that matter... is The Director purple now?
