Babe, wake up, New Year just dropped

Hello!

And here we are again, at the end of the year and the final update of 2025.

It's been a... turbulent year, let's say. I quit my job, went full time for a few months on Zero End, then promptly ran out of money right as I got hired at my current job. I feel like I pissed through the openings in an electric fence. I probably won't be gambling my financial security like that again, but it was thrilling. Then I went of break for a while, which I really needed.

I've learned some things from the past year and it has informed my path forward. For the first years of working on Zero End, I kept holding on to hope that I'll be able to go full time on it one day. Having tried it a few months, I realized that it's not going to happen and my priority will always have to be my day job.

Most unfortunate. Maybe next project.

On the other hand, I think that removed a lot of the pressure I felt. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing will have to be seen. I'm definitely nowhere near as productive as I used to be when I was desperate for the game to succeed, but I'm not drinking every night and I can form coherent thoughts. Always a price.

Either way, that's enough retrospective, let's look to the future. Hopefully, next year's gonna be more relaxing and I can finish the side characters' stories. I'll have some progress updates next year (it's just been holidays and prep for the past 10 days or so).
