We've been getting a lot of questions lately which honestly is great and we love it! So I sat down, gathered the most frequent ones, and decided it was time for a proper updated FAQ. Consider this your one-stop shop for everything you want to know about where Soulgasm is, where it's going, and what to expect 🙈

🔁 THE COMEBACK 🎉
Q: Is the project actually back in production?
A: Yes! For real 😅 We are actively writing, building, and moving forward. If you've been around for a while, thank you for sticking with us. If you're new here WELCOME - you picked a great moment to join us!
Q: What happened? Where did you go?
A: Life happened, the team got scattered, and our youngest member turned out to be the most demanding boss we've ever had 🙈 But we regrouped, restructured, learned from our mistakes, and came back with a much clearer picture of what we're building and how to actually finish it. We want to do it right this time.
Q: Will the new version continue from where the old one left off?
A: No, it's going to be a fresh start and the old version is being discontinued. The story has been rewritten, the structure has been rebuilt, and the content is largely new. Some things will feel familiar, but this is essentially a new game wearing the same name, the same beautiful graphics and carrying the same heart. Better, meatier, spicier. Pinky promise 🤞 🔥
🎮 THE GAME
Q: What kind of game is Soulgasm?
A: An adult visual novel built around deep character relationships, branching choices with real consequences, and a slow-burning mystery set on an island that isn't on any map. It earns its heat through actual character development. We didn't get to the mystery part in the previous game version, so no spoilers were present! Not on my watch!
Q: Will there be multiple endings?
A: Yes, and we mean it seriously. Your choices will have lasting consequences across the whole story. Some endings are rare enough that finding them will feel like a genuine discovery. We're building something you'll want to replay more than once.
Q: Who do I play as?
A: A male protagonist — a fugitive sailor who ends up on an island full of remarkable people, all of whom have their own secrets, agendas, and opinions about you. There are currently no plans for a female protagonist (that's the curse of handmade 2D content, looks exceptionally good but has many limitations 😟)
Q: Is there anything I can play right now?
A: A previous alpha version is available on Patreon! A warning though: it represents an earlier, discontinued version of the game. Things have changed significantly since then. Think of it as a taste of the vibe rather than a preview of what's coming.

📦 WHAT'S COMING
Q: What will the first release look like?
A: We're committed to making the first delivery very meaty. Writing all the paths trying to make sure that each lady get's equal amount of love, which is not easy, because some romances burn slower than others! After that first release, we'll continue delivering in smaller, focused batches so you're not waiting forever between updates.
Q: Is Eria in the game?
A: The most important question, eh? Eria WILL BE in the game! We'll leave it at that, her arrival is part of the story, and we'd rather you discover it for yourself 👀
Q: Will there be more characters added in the future?
A: We already have a 'wishful thinking list' 🙈 We're also writing the game in a way that makes future additions possible without everything exploding. That said, the current cast comes first. Whether we get to add more depends a lot on the support the game receives. So if you want more: tell your friends, tell your cousins, tell your grandma: wishlist on Steam, but most importantly stay awesome 😍
Q: Will the game have animated scenes and minigames?
A: Animated scenes and minigames are temporarily deprioritized while we focus on getting the full story and art done first. But we will get back to them! We know how to make them, we're just trying to be as clever as possible about the order of operations this time. Story and art first, everything else after. It means faster updates and more smut sooner. Not to say: a richer story and overall experience for you ❤️🎮❤️
🔧 TECHNICAL
Q: What platforms will Soulgasm be on?
A: PC first. Mobile is something we want to do — and have been testing — but PC is the priority. Other platforms will follow once we're in a position to support them properly.
Q: What engine is the game built in?
A: Unity!
Q: Will the game be voiced?
A: We would love that. It's on the list. How far up the list depends on how the game performs, we don't want to make promises we can't keep. But it's absolutely something we dream of for Soulgasm. 🎙️

Q: Do I need to be a Patron to get the game?
A: Patrons get access first, that's our way of saying thank you to the people who make this possible. A wider release will follow.
Q: What's the best way to support the project right now?

Q: When is my in-game portrait happening?

What a pleasant surprise! Glad to see you guys back! Will there be a way to turn off minigames to have a VN experience, at the very least during the sex scenes? I always thought minigames were pointless in eroge at the best of times and actively frustrating during sex scenes. So this was the only issue I had with the old version of the game.
We are stepping away from minigames in the upcoming reboot and we will see then if we need them and whats the feedback. We will have some small puzzles to solve but not as exaggerated as in the first one. And definitely not during sex scenes, those will be made to enjoy :)
