April Fools!
April Fools is.. or rather was upon us. Depending a bit on where you are located. At least it is over for now where I am at.
I am sorry, but I couldn’t help myself... Considering I have a reputation for inadvertently destroying doors whenever there’s a new extensive game patch out I thought it would be fun to add an annoying NPC called Base Mental that walks around stealing doors, one by one.
Most of you have already figured this out, but to fix the issue you have to delete the additional package file included in the installation called Reactions Simulation Lag Fix.package – That’s all there is to it.
The next time you reboot your game the NPC will be deleted from your game as if he never existed. But the doors he stole will forever be his. He collects them, apparently…
If you happen to have “messed up” by playing in San Myshuno and that joker stole your apartment doors, and you also managed to overwrite your save you still have a couple of options to fix it. The first one would be to roll back your save to a previous version of it. Just go to the Load/Save screen and click the Recover Save button.
Your second option would be to download TOOL by TwistedMexi which will allow you to place doors on your apartment buildings.
If you were one of those unlucky apartment owning ones this happened to, I do apologize. At least a little bit. It is still fixable as mentioned, and I still find it funny. But I am also sorry… A little bit.
Last but not least. I have updated the mods on the website and Patreon now so the prank package is excluded from the downloads. You can of course download those and reinstall, but it is not really necessary. All you have to do is delete that additional package and reboot the game.

I actually like this idea, except there needs to be a way to block this NPC from stealing specialized apartment doors. Maybe just have him steal CC doors. Those all disappear leaving a closed wall in their place whenever I update and my cc is disabled.

bro i had to reset my whole game. it takes me so long to load w all of my CC. you killed my gaming vibe today. i need to remember not to dl anything on april 1st lol
If you haven't already, uncheck the box that lists all your cc and mods in that pop up window at launch. Once I stopped making the game list all my cc it loads much faster now.

hahahahahahahahahaha. got me. I gotta stop playing post puff. I just kept replacing doors one after the other. I never caught on. I didn't even notice until I watched one sim jog around her whole house to get to the only door left. Well played.
I'm kinda sad I missed the door stealer. (ㅠ﹏ㅠ) I also kinda want to find a way to make my sim steal doors. 'Cause that's awesome.

LOL this is too funny. Unfortunately, I never did see him, so I had no idea until I just now read this. I was laughing during the entire read though and the comments are even better. Thank you for making it interesting even if some of us lame-o's (i.e. ME) missed it.

After he stole all Sim's bathroom doors and front door, I figured out what was up and I had been keeping an eye out for him. When he showed up the last time, I decided to activate "Control Any Sim" and made him go home, then locked him out. I have decided to keep him in my game until he starts to annoy me (like, if he steals the front door too many times), but I kinda think he's cute and might add him to my celebrity's household since he's a fan of her comedy stylings and came to her meet and greet... and is apparently familiar with the house. (I might make him my house man until he works off the doors he's stolen.) He is lucky he came to Oasis Springs. If he had shown up to the household in Del Sol Valley, they might not have let him leave. That's where the gangsters play; roughhousing is encouraged over there. 😯 I can't wait till next year.
