♡ More Content Creation Recs | Blender Add-ons, My Base Blender File, + More.
Hello and happy new year! Every once and a while I like to compile a list of programs and stuff that I've grown to love using, so that's what we're doing but for blender! Even outside of cc creation for The Sims 4 I use Blender for so many different things. I've even gotten more comfortable with drawing using the program now, so I figured it was about time for an updated post. Some of the things listed are purely cosmetic and others are things I can't use the program without! You'll find a good mix here and the base blender file I use for everything.
Helpful Blender Add-ons.
╰┈➤BLENDER 4.5 for Windows [My current Blender version, but I'll be upgrading to 5.0 soon.]
𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴: Free as of 01/04/2026
Overall 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: ★★★★★
This version of Blender is compatible with the most current version of Sims4Studio, so if you're using it for TS4 content you'll want to grab this one. It's a lot nicer than earlier versions. A lot of things are streamlined. However, if you're following a specific tutorial and would prefer to use the same version as said creator- you could also download that one. I just tend to use the most current released. I find the UI more appealing in later versions.
Blenderkit [FREE + PAID] | Blenderkit is my #1 blender add-on. It makes everything so much easier. I use it for renders, I use it for cc creation- it's a super useful program. Essentially it's a library of content that's added into blender. You can find texture, 3D models, HDRi's- you name it. I mostly use it whenever I'm building a scene for a render. If I need to add in a tree, I can just search it up and add it in. Or if I want to change the environment lighting- I can do that. When it comes to cc creation, you could use it for adding certain textures to objects or changing the lighting to bake textures onto objects with a different look. The 3D models do belong to their respective creators, so don't go converting them fr TS4 and uploading them as your own. Using them for rendered images is totally fine though. There's a paid and free version of the program. I have a paid yearly subscription, because it's essential for me but the free one is just as good. You just don't have access to everything in the library, but you can make do with what you have! If you're interested in getting the paid version, I do have an affiliate link that gets you 10% off! I do receive payment whenever the link is used and you get a subscription, so be mindful of that. I'll include that link here. The first link to blenderkit does not include my affiliation at all, so don't worry. You aren't being duped into anything lol.
Procedural Crowds [PAID] | Does what it says on the tin. Creates procedural crowds for rendered images or videos using blender. This is not relevant to TS4 at all and cannot be used. It is only for rendering.
Auto-rig Pro [PAID] | If you've ever open TS4 content in blender (like cc, sims, etc.) then you'll see that they have a rig. That's what this program does. It creates rigs for objects that don't have one. For humans, dogs, etc. This is great if you use programs like Character Creator 4 or DAZ 3D and aren't fond of the rigs their models come with. Using this add-on you can create a better rig. I suppose you could also use this for TS4 models, but I haven't tried it. Again, this isn't an add-on fit for TS4 or cc creation. Just one that I use for other blender projects.
Faceit [PAID] | Faceit is similar to ARP, but for faces. While ARP does have a set-up to add a rig to a face, Faceit's is a bit more detailed. It also allows you to use mocap for facial expressions too which is great. I don't believe that's something that ARP has of yet. I haven't used ARP and this program in conjunction with each other, so I'm unsure if you're able to. I have, however, used this to make some talking animations for TS4. it's a long and arduous process that I can't explain well yet. When I truly get the hang of it then of course I'll let you know.
The City Generator [PAID | This is another programs that's only suited for Blender. You can't really use it for TS4 at all. Except perhaps if you wanted to make a few custom back drops, then you could but no. Generally it isn't used for TS4 at all. It's meant to generate busy cities for rendered images or videos. It is a very hefty program. It even makes my computer chug, but if you're interested in having a bustling city for a blender scene- then this one is really great.
Blender Themes I Use.
╰┈➤For Blender 4.5, but is also compatible with some previous versions.
How-to: Installing Blender Themes
Blender themes just change the look of the Blender program! Most times you see people just use the default grey, maybe a black version- but I like to switch it up sometimes. I typically go for pink, but I've tried a few other colors too. Here's a few of my faves. All themes listed are free. You can only use one them at a time. Some themes you may have to use the above tutorial for, while others you can simply drag and drop into blender.

My Base Blender File.
╰┈➤Made with Blender 4.5
Below I've included my base set up for all my blender projects. That includes renders, cc modeling, etc. It is an empty file, so don't expect to see anything in there. It simply includes all my settings that are optimized for my pc. If you're curious about my cc specs then you can find that here. Whenever I model cc, I use this file and bake textures in this file. You'll have to toggle some settings on or off depending on what you're using the file for. (If it's for baking textures for cc, then remember to turn off denoise since I have that on. For rendered images I turn the samples up to 124 with denoising on.) This is for those who are familiar with Blender and have experience using it. This is not to help you start making cc. Also- please remember to change the output for whatever you're using the file for and to toggle off "overwrite". Unless you want your files to overwrite then feel free to keep that on.
