The Ancient Deities, specifically Ancient Gods for the males and Ancient Goddesses for the females are one of the many sub-types of Deities. As their name suggests, they are quite ancient compared to standard Deities, even those who ascended artificially. The only types of deities that are even older than them are those hailing from the Lovecraftian Pantheon, and some of the First Creators of each Pantheon. To reflect their age, most of them are also unfathomably wise, especially in the fields of Magic.
Their power, in comparison to the aforementioned Lovecraftian Pantheon is also rather interesting, being on both ends of the spectrum compared to the power scope of the Lovecraftian Pantheon. Weaker members are weaker than the Great Old Ones, yet stronger members surpass even all of the Outer Gods combined.
The Ancient Deities are scattered across many Pantheons, and sometimes, a group of Ancient Deities can even form their own Pantheon. For example, some of the Gods of the Egyptian Pantheon are also Ancient Deities. With this in mind, some of the Ancient Deities are therefore also Aeons.
