There's actually been some interesting research done recently on the subject of voluntary vs involuntary pain. I can't recall a lot of the detail other than some stuff backing up the notion that expecting and wanting the pain really does make a huge difference in how our brains process it. But it's cool that the research is being done.

Personally, I've always found the upside to receiving painful, lasting back scratches to be locker room bragging rights without having to utter a word. ;)

She's got that "innocent on the outside, devious on the inside" demeanor that makes weak.
Polly is slowly starting to become a favourite of mine, I know this little mouse will have big impact. She just seems fun. Also she's 100% right.

Like Flutters_ said, it's very different. Also, I'm assuming that the cuddles and comfort blanket (if desired) is implied. That dopamine crash can be harsh.
