American Gladiators is back. Again. Still not as good as the original though.

They filmed the movie in Roseburg and Oakland Oregon. Oakland is this tiny little town that still looks old as Rodger mentioned. My fiancé grew up in Oakland and her father who’s a local pig farmer in town was one of the local hires for the church scene. After Mike Rogers addresses the crowd and leaves the church the camera pans down to my father in law with his straggly long hair and beard (still has both to this day) shaking his head and says something to the person next to him.

Another AZ native here. I winced when Rodgers said, “Mo-goll-on”. It’s “Muggie-on” Rim. Hate to be that guy.

Not too familiar with D.B. Sweeney, so all I could see was Paul Rudd in Wet Hot riding that motorcycle through town

My Dad rented this for me in the 90s. I got too scared 3/4 of the way through, so I went to bed and he kept watching. I remember hearing DB Sweeney’s endless screams echoing from downstairs as I tried to sleep. Great movie.

I remember seeing this in the theater and thinking the coda text felt like a triumph. Now it’s just funny that over 20 years later they decided to get tested again.

A 90s movie with a TV episode plot and capital-A Acting! ? Just throw in a couple overly composed, Kubrick-style tableau shots and a soundtrack featuring the most obvious, top 40 1970’s hits, and you’ve got yourself what the tik tok kids call “pure cinema.”

This American Life did a good episode on the event. It was also in the era of Lie Detector tests were the end all be all when it came to credibility so it gave the story legs.

I'm sure you know that Robert Patrick is the brother of singer from Filter. They also have a cousin in Austin that's a multi instrumentalist that I work with occasionally. He sent me a copy of Robert covering "Do You Know The Way To San Jose." His voice is so gruff, but it's cool to have lying around. 😂

Crossing my fingers the upcoming Kathleen Wilhoite picture is Crossing Delancey for a shadow wolves. (Her best work is on Gilmore Girls tho!!)

Aw man. The nightmares this movie gave me The world was so much simpler when we were more afraid of aliens probing your butthole than the police.

I would listen to this but I've been on a Hunter Run since Saturday morning. 7 seasons to get through. Action Boyz you are so correct, it delivers.

AZ native. Arizona has a climate/land layout that is VERY similar to California. Some places get a little hotter, some a little colder, but AZ has deserts, dense forests, and varying plains like CA
