Episode 5.2 - Summary
Hey everyone!
It’s been a week since the release of update 5.2, so I thought it was time to say a few words from my side. After every update, I read all of your comments wherever I can find them. I try to learn from them, take useful feedback, and implement it whenever I feel it makes sense, but I also try to ignore things when I believe they should simply be ignored. What I mean is that I’m doing everything I can to meet your expectations and improve the game we are making with passion, but at the same time, we are making it our way. We have our own vision for SoD, and we are not going to let ourselves be pushed around or change everything just because someone doesn’t like a particular decision.
That’s enough for the short introduction. I was very curious to see how you would react to the latest update, and honestly, I wasn’t disappointed. Apart from all the usual comments about “waiting so long for so little content” and similar things that seem to appear after basically every update, there was also quite a lot of constructive criticism, as well as a few comments from people who are now permanently banned . This is quite an interesting point in SoD’s story because I know this part will not be for everyone. Some people will love it, while others will probably hate it. Why? Because we are getting closer and closer to the end, and I know that many players enjoy this slightly stretched-out slow burn. At the same time, if I were a casual player who bought a game advertised as a visual novel with adult elements, I would probably be disappointed if that slow burn continued all the way to the end.
I also want to point out that the game is experienced very differently by people who play every update as it comes out and people who play the entire game from start to finish. For the first group, something happening in one particular update can feel like a huge jump, while for the second group, it can be something they have been waiting for for a very long time. Either way, SoD is already quite a long game by AVN standards. We could easily split it into 2–3 separate games or acts and charge money for each one. But from the very beginning, I said that SoD would be a one-time purchase, and nothing has changed in that regard. It won’t change either. Even if this is a bad financial decision on my part, I honestly don’t care that much about it. I want people who bought the game to get the entire experience without having to pay for every major part of the story separately.
Anyway, back to the point, because I’m already going off track. The bar scene and the school scene caused quite a lot of controversy. As for the bar scene, it was partly meant as an introduction to what Riley and Mike are planning for the future - changing the direction of the bar, or at least part of it. And come on, who has never wanted to cuddle with a waitress after a few drinks? Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
As for the school scene, I agree that it might have been a little over the top, BUT the entire scene was optional. You had choices that allowed you to keep Riley on a slower path, or choose a Riley who wanted to take a bigger step into debauchery. So if you didn’t like what she did, THAT WAS YOUR CHOICE, you filthy bastards. Sure, the scene was a little less realistic than some of the others, because who wouldn’t notice something like that happening in a classroom? But that is exactly what fantasy is about. Everyone has their own kinks for a reason. I’m not going to deny that the scene was a bit too much; in fact, I agree that it was. But all you had to do was tell Riley to simply finish her presentation like she was supposed to, and the rest of the scene would never happen. Unless, of course, some of the people complaining secretly wanted it to happen.
Now, about having to replay the game and make new saves just for one scene. There will be more scenes and branches like this, and this was also an introduction to the potential endings. There will be 4 main endings, with possible sub-endings, so you could say there are practically around 6 different outcomes. They will be fully introduced in episode 6.1. At that point, your ending will already be determined by YOUR CHOICES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE GAME, and you will only have an influence on whether your ending will be positive or... well, not necessarily positive. This is also one of the reasons why some choices and branches are being introduced now rather than all at once at the very end. Your decisions throughout the game will eventually come together and have a real impact on how the story ends.

And finally, I want to share a small observation from my side. These days, it seems very common to complain that the games we receive don’t meet our expectations. In the past, things felt much simpler. People played a game, enjoyed what they got, and simply got lost in its world, whether it was exactly what they imagined or something completely different. Nowadays, we compare everything to everything else. If something isn’t exactly how we imagined it, or if we don’t get what we wanted, then it must be bad. And I’m not talking only about SoD here; I mean many other games as well. Instead of trying to get into the world that the developer created and accepting it for what it is, we often complain that it isn’t the world we wanted. And I’m saying this both as a developer and as a player. Don’t compare everything to everything else, and don’t compare yourself to other people or, even worse, to influencers. Just enjoy the moment and enjoy what you receive. Okay, that’s the end of my little philosophical rant and my intrusive thoughts.
Work on update 6.0 has already started. You still have 4 full SoD updates ahead of you, each roughly similar in size. We are probably talking about around 12,000–15,000 renders in total, plus a ton of animations. We are working on it whenever we have free time. I don’t know exactly when these updates will be released, but when they arrive, they will be made exactly as we planned from the beginning, without compromises, unnecessary simplifications, shortcuts, or rushing things just to finish the project. Maybe I’m not the best developer, and maybe some of my replies on certain forums are too sarcastic and don’t exactly fit the role, but I’m a perfectionist, and when I decide to make something, I want to do it from beginning to end without taking shortcuts. I would rather take longer and release something I’m genuinely happy with than rush it just so I can say that the project is finished.

This is, without a doubt, one of the best sagas and novels I've ever read. Thank you. I'd also like to say that you don't have to finish this saga. This game has so much potential! With this drawing art, you can spend your vacation at a relative's house or receive visits from family members. In short, you can do so much more! I love the game!

Such a great game, picked it up again from the internet after some legend created an android port and I had to sub and show some love. Last time I played this game the pole dance mini game didn't work, so having everything working perfect so far is incredible and goes to show your skill and dedication to you work 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Hi, I just wanted to mention that in some of the streaming parts with Elijah. They say Riley instead of using the Alias. this is including some of the donations. Also I was curious about the bonds page. as some of the characters arent on it, like Madison and Dean Scott, even Beatrice. If I had to say anything, it would be about the pole dancing, Mike doesnt have any talk or reaction to thhe increasingly amount of clothes Riley takes off. I just thought it might be able to be put in to give some sort of feedback to Riley about how far she is going or something like that. Overall I love the game and I am eagerly awaiting to see how things turn out.
The game does not work on new Android devices
I'd love to see Riley eventually get a large chest piece and become heavily tattooed. I know it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think a womb tattoo could also fit the whole debauchery theme and really show how much Riley has changed over time. And later on, I think it would be pretty wild and different to have a scene at the bar where customers are actually lining up outside the bathroom to get oral and sex from Riley. I'd love to see something like that in the game.

Even though I haven't gotten the chance to play the new update yet, I've thoroughly enjoyed SoD, sure there are parts I'm not the biggest fan of but that's not to say someone else isn't either, otherwise, it has been a wonderful game, chocked full of good animations and interesting plot points, I can't wait to see how everything turns out and see if I can figure out how to see all the endings

Greetings to Developer, Would like to say SOD has been a great story and hope you and your team keep up the great work and looking patiently forward to your future update. I know this is not the forum for suggestions however I just one request is it possible to do a feature where you can shortcut previous vital decisions prior to you need update? Maybe it is just me for playing the VN wrong to get all the scenes. I need to start a new game to get specific scene, for example the classroom scene. Don't get me wrong it is a great story thus far, it is just difficult to skip though the content a couple of times to get the scenes Unless anyone with any way of assisting to get the classroom scene without the need to restart, I would really appreciate. Thank you and continue your great job.
I have no complaints. The game feels incredibly comprehensive and offers a huge amount of content for its price. In fact, it’s longer than I initially expected and has far more content. Many games present a sandbox-style map but end up falling short, being abandoned or rushing the ending, but not this one. As the finale approaches, it’s natural for things to escalate, and having played so many games in this genre, I’ve seen some truly wild stuff. So, I'm actually glad that the Riley adventures feel pretty "vanilla" to me 😉👍. Now that I think about it, I lied earlier: I DO have a complaint 😏🎈. I've been caught out using the 'panic mode', which they said is a fake loop! 🤣🙏. The mode needed a few extra renders to ensure it doesn't repeat so quickly 😁.

The school scene was completely off and you tell people it could have been off.And then you blame people be perverts choosing the option. Steam users buy Novel which is a story. If the story is not coherent its not fine and the product breaks. You could fix the story several ways: 1) Make Riley dream about the presentation and fucking Dean based on past choices. It could lead also nightmare of getting pen in Rileys ass in front of class. 2) You could remove the choice which makes completely weird scene in middle of class. 3) You could remove the completely weird pen stick or the licking under the desk from the sequence. You seems to remove all critique even when the criticism is written to attempt to help you make and improve your content. Instead you leave the "good stuff" without any feedback why something is good what they though was off. Then you ban those that actually try to help you.
I understand your point of view, but I could also leave it as it is, because the tone of your message suggests that I have to do something, or else you'll be unhappy - which means you've completely misunderstood my point of view. If you're not satisfied, I'll gladly refund your subscription fee.
This will be a long post, so apologies in advance. (Possible mild spoilers ahead) I was quite surprised at some of the criticism on Steam, some of which made valid points but a lot was overly negative, and clearly comes from a place where people have loved the game but then become bitter just because it doesn't completely match their vision of what the game should be. I get that the Mr. X in the bar and Dean school scene might seem a bit too much but if taken from a certain point of view I don't really see how people should have such a huge problem with those scenes. Let's face it, for any adult VN worth its salt there has to be a least some element of suspension of disbelief. This isn't real life and some things will get a bit out there. For the Mr. X scene I just imagine the music in the bar is pretty loud and there is enough cover for Riley to do her thing. Would have been cool to have Wesley and Jay (knowing full well what was happening) go to sit at the bar to occupy Mike and completely block his view, playing naughty accomplices to Riley. It was interesting to read on Steam some people suggesting that Riley turn off the lights for her presentations, making the lewd stuff a bit easier to believe and Fooxied admitting they simply hadn't thought of that. Maybe that is something that could be altered retrospectively for future updates or even the finished game? To be honest the most unbelievable thing in the whole game for me is that a girl like Riley would be married to an empty shirt like Mike at the age of 21! Reading through Fooxied's summary just emphasises how making one of these games is so challenging and you will never please everyone or include everything people want. I don't envy you guys making the game at all. Some people moaned that the slow burn was too long and now others are moaning that she has just become too slutty, you can't win. I don't know what people expect, Hugo award level writing? The fact is that we are getting nearer the end of the game, I think the pacing of Riley's corruption has been done pretty well overall and we are at the stage where we should expect her to start behaving pretty wildly (or what are we really here for?). If I was being honest, I feel Riley does a little less soul searching over cheating on her husband and only lover than I would have expected but that genuinely is minor nitpicking. And it's not as if we don't see her having guilty thoughts, just that she moves past it a little too easily? Also, you make an excellent point about how the perception of Riley's descent will vary quite a bit depending on if someone plays it through as a full game or as the updates drop. There's no doubt the game has LOTS of content and to see some people online saying the devs are scamming people with DLC and patreon fees is fucking ridiculous when you can buy the full game and never pay any more if you wish. My hours spent on this game are almost at 100. Total bargain if you ask me and more free content to come. My take is that SoD is one of the very best (if not the best) AVNs out there. The story is interesting and fun to follow and most of what we see Riley doing is improbable rather than impossible. The renders and animations are so insanely polished and, most importantly, fucking hot, that the game has almost ruined every other AVN I've played so far. One of the reasons I really wanted to see orgasm sounds added was because the animations up to that point were SO good that not having them felt like a glaring omission. With other AVNs it doesn't matter the same, simply because they have hit nowhere near the heights SoD has when it comes to that aspect of their games. If I'm being greedy I would still like to see the cumshots as one-time small animations (rather than loops); combined with the orgasm sounds it would be........ :chef's kiss:, before transitioning into the still renders. In summary, keep following your vision. What you've made is awesome. It's not perfect by any means, but that doesn't matter because I fucking love it!

Thank you for the effort you put into this project, it is in truth an fantastic AVN game. Those who complain can try to make their own littel Ren'Py game, that might make them a bit more humble. This is one of those games where i actully care more about the story and how it develops over time, in contrast to "click-click-click-click....c'mon lets f*ck!". So again, thank you for the time you spend on this project, i am enjoying every minute of it!

I read some of the comments on Steam. I don't agree with people who wanted this or that to happen. I'm not the developer, so my role is to enjoy (or not) the ride the games provide. I didn't mind the lewd scenes in the classroom - sure, its farfetched but its a fantasy game. A little bit of suspension of disbilief is part of the play. Personally, I didn't like the anal - because I was expecting it to be an event, since she hadn't done it yet. The real attraction to me here is the boundaries being pushed gradually and I thought that was a step too far. But, that being said, I still enjoyed the update. I thought the renders and dialogs were great. I love the possible setup for Blaze (I'm a fan of his) and I'm waiting for the next Mr. X challange hopíng it is with him the finale of it. Keep up doind what you set out to do and some people will love it, some will not. Story criticism? No, I don't do that. Its not my story to tell. Oh, and if its part of the plan, give poor Elijah a break from blue balls man. Guy must be in pain. LOL

I find that people that complain of the Dev's "vision" confusing. If you dimply don't like a game, don't play it, or support it... Because it is not your type of tea, doesn't mean a game is good or bad. I really enjoy this game! It is why I support it.

SoD is probably in my top 3 favorite games in this category ! I think players take a lot of pleasure with teasing and progressive debauchery, step by step. Obviously, we are maybe gooners xD That's why my favorite erotic gameplay in ero game is this progressive evolution in tavern, bar, with more and more acceptance of sexual touches, becoming more and more harder. I would love a little bit more content with Mike and his friends enjoying poker parties with our favorite heroin. Maybe one or two sessions about party poker, 2 steps more, finishing maybe in GB on the table in Mike appartment. So, in conclusion, I am very very happy of Fooxied Games work !! I am hyped by the futures updates, and I think I will play many time from the beginning. If I can make a suggestion : when the game would be finished, I will be ready to pay an extension giving me more of replayable content in some places, like at school, at the gym, at the bar obviously, at the beach, (everytime I am checking if something may happen at the beach). at Mike apartment (I like the idea that she could become the Mike's pet). Oh I feel called out because I think it's my complain about those scenes. I admit I enjoy slow burn. I'm one of those weirdos that don't like straight up porn. SoD is right up my alley. And if I ever wrote "it's not enough" I will repeat myself. What you are doing is really good. This avn is step above others. And when you have something good what do you want? More of it.
Love the game, maybe there could be a small walkthrough page in the future. I am stuck on trying to figure out how to get the 2 scenes with Madison based on my choices . Keep up the great work

After reading this I realize I need to go back and play the game again from the start. The story has evolved so much in recent updates as riley's adventures have become more ... adventurous. Keep up the great work and ignore the whiners.

I enjoyed the update. I know there were a lot of complaints on Steam. Some, she was corrupting too fast. Not really. No faster than any other corruption game. Did they forget the name of the game? The classroom scene was fun. Those who complained about it being over the top, clearly did not play the Christmas DLC. I personally love the step up in her lewdness. I wouldn't change thing. I can't wait for the back room in the bar to open.

I liked a those bar scenes the relationship between her and Mike she is confident and he likes it. But like some other people here i am little concerned about endings, of course if you let her be like that you will get ending like that. Just be mindfull. On end this update animation looked one of best i saw in game.

I havent played the new update quite yet, but fooxie I must say thank for the initial decision for not doing seasons or chapters. It one of the determining factors I stick around. Some avns charge 15$ for each chapter and the cost can get really high, we are talking beyond full game prices . So I want to say I appreciate the decision. Also the pace has been good so far, yeah it took a while for sex, but there was exhibitionism, corruption. People aren't corrupted instantly. I also like the option that allows you to see if Mike is ok with it or you could just be naughty. Long winded way of saying thank you and keep it up my guy.

I finished playing through this update yesterday, and it was definitely worth the wait. I had the chance to play the game all the way through up to version 5.0, and then play the later updates separately, and I can honestly say that yes, playing the whole game from start to finish is a completely different experience. But I genuinely enjoy both ways of experiencing the game. The quality of this game is absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for all the work you put into it! I hope you’ll be able to find a new artist and that it will help speed up the development process. ❤️

The only thing I would welcome is the possibility of some repeatable events, which are great, like with Madison, Ivy and Sharon or how poker was on the boat they can alternate, they can develop, but it all depends on how it fits into your ideas of development and whether it's compatible at all, but most importantly, don't let yourself be pushed somewhere within the framework of the story direction, I'm excited about it and there's only one game that has excited me as much and that's Being and DIK, I don't want to hurt other developers, there are a couple more that I like, but these two are TOP for me. 🤗👍😍
I'll just say that I love the game; without a doubt, I think it's the best visual novel-style game I've ever played. I'm really looking forward to seeing it finished and starting a new playthrough from scratch.
The last update was very good. The new work in the bar and the photo shoot scenes updated the gameplay. I especially want to note the high level of animations, they are fantastic!!
As someone who has been playing per update since sometime in 2024, I absolutely loved this update! The reaction to the school scene surprises me - where did people think this was going? I honestly didn't even find it that shocking, when the school has a Dean like Scott and a teacher like Wilson I'm not surprised this sort of thing is happening tbh XD I've played other AVN's so maybe thats why I wasn't shocked. I admit when I realised I'd have to play through the whole "no Dean" route to get the Bully variant of it I felt a little miffed, but it didn't stop me from loading a save from waaaay back when you had the dinner with the Dean and decided to keep going or end the route there, and playing aaallll the way back to current day to unlock it lol I'll now continue to play that save with each update to keep it up to date. I kinda wished reaching and unlocking one variant of the school scene just unlocked the other ones, perhaps with a pop up warning "You have not experienced this version of the scene" in a playthrough sort of thing, but hey... I DID go back and do it so I can't have been that bothered *shrug* I note you have to play through a Madison Rival route file to unlock that variant, however you didn't need to do that with a scene in a previous update (it's in the office with the Dean after the library scene following the art show scene), so I'm not sure why we needed to this time? As someone who honestly only plays the game for one reason (when I'm having some er, alone time), I don't really have the time to play each update multiple times on different saves to unlock stuff that has been building up either way; but I will mantain at least a "Dean" and "No Dean" file from now on, as it seems to have the biggest variance. As ever, I love what you guys are doing and I'm here right until the end now! Keep up doing what you do!
The game is just awesome, one of the best sandbox games out there right now! I’d love to see a second option in Sauna in the next updates! 😁

Thought it was a really good update. I think the whole VN is one of the best out there. As for the endings, just would not want to see the whole game her say "doing this for mike, I love mike, etc", then turn around and say "F Mike". Those never make sense to me. Also, would like to see Mike get some love too... probably with the swingers at the bar.
Bro keep doing what your are doing, there will always be people who complain and hate. It’s just how everything nowadays and on the bright side you have integrity which many devs now of days lose listen to few my minority that complain louder then most.
