Episode 5.1 - Summary

A few days have passed since the update, so it’s time for a short summary of all the messages I’ve read from you - here, on the forum, Discord, and everywhere else. I want you to know that even if I don’t always reply directly, I read all your feedback and take it into account.
As you probably noticed, this was more of a bridge update, with a lot of teasing. It still included some sex scenes - during D&D, at the gym with the trainer, with Wyatt, and in the last VR episode. I know this is a love-it-or-hate-it topic, and not everyone enjoys the fantasy setting, so there will be only one more D&D scene. That said, it also has its fans. Empathy is one of my favorite traits - it helps us see things from different perspectives. Just because I don’t like something doesn’t mean others don’t enjoy it (the same goes for fetishes).
There’s one thing that keeps coming up with every update: that it’s too short, that someone’s favorite character wasn’t included, or that updates should come faster. I’ve been hearing this for two years, and I always say the same thing - if we could, we would make more, faster, and better. I work over 250 hours every month, including weekends, because I truly enjoy what I do and want to spend all my free time on it But I simply can’t speed things up any further. We are actively trying to hire new people, but so far their artistic skills haven’t been good enough to keep the render quality at the level we want.
So what surprises me is this: for the past two years, we’ve consistently released updates every 3–4 months, each with a similar amount of content (both renders count and script words), and after every update there’s feedback asking for bigger and less frequent releases. So I’ll repeat what I always say - if you don’t like shorter updates, wait for two updates to come out, or for the full release of the game at the end of 2027.
I would really like to hire two or three more artists and make updates twice as big, but I’ve reviewed over 100 candidates and none met the quality standards. The quality of the game and renders is very important to me - I won’t lower it just to produce content faster.
Most of the negative opinions about episode 5.1 come from people who expected more adult content. This is another thing I always point out - we are making an Adult Visual Novel, which combines multiple elements (Adult, Visual, Novel), and adult content is only one of them. Some updates will have more of it, some less. If that’s all you’re looking for, you might often feel disappointed (in that case, see point above - wait for the full release in 2027).
One last thing I wrote on another forum that I’d like to share here:
We live in times where people want everything fast, short, and immediate - a 40-minute vlog on YouTube can feel boring when you can watch a 10-second short instead. It’s similar with SoD - some people don’t follow the story if every scene doesn’t include nudity or sex, without realizing that it’s actually the mix of those scenes with everything else that makes the game interesting (at least in my opinion).
You might not like me as a developer or the direction I sometimes take, but everyone who complains after each update still comes back to see what’s new - and that says a lot.
That’s my main point - I agree this update focused on building tension, and people looking for quick, intense content might be disappointed. I’m aware of some imperfections, but I also know how to build tension in a way that keeps the story engaging. The game isn’t about a single update - it’s about the full experience.
To finish on a positive note - I focus on criticism because I want to explain my thinking, but I always read and truly appreciate all the positive messages. Those people understand that this game (maybe not very important in terms of culture or art) is very important to me. I spend my whole days working on it, and even when I’m doing something else, I’m thinking about how we can improve SoD. I’m doing everything I can to make it complete, engaging, and as good as possible, as fast as possible.
In the end, everyone who says the update was too short simply wants more content to continue Riley’s story - and to me, that shows players are truly engaged.

Dev do you offer your game in android apk links because i don't use joiplay and don't use any PC's neither desktop nor laptop computers.
Certain options are greyed out for me, like "have sex" with Wyatt after his blowjob, or continuing after teasing the guys in the sauna. AM I missing or something, or have those scenes simply not been implimented yet?
Hi, I love the game and attention to detail in it. Was just enquiring about something I notices. when the MC goe to see Dean Scott there is a part where he mentions that their is an Art exhibition coming up. but I had alread gone to the Exhibition a few days before he mentioned it. so not sure if it is some sort of timing bug or because it deals with multiple different paths that it appeared before he mentioned it.

I think this update is great and sticks to its style and it's great that it opens up a lot more avenues for interesting story additions, but still some update could shorten our wait for the next parts of this great story, for example, the possibility of repeating events with Madison, Ivy or Sharon, some newer ones would also please, for example, some poker events, like they were on a boat or something more, or relaxing on the beach, there would be a lot of options, streaming and scenes could be repeated, it's still different than watching them from the gallery and at the same time there is an opportunity to get some money for Riley, which is not a necessity, because there are enough opportunities, but depending on the development of the story, they could come in handy for the reconstruction and decoration of the room in the bar. but I think that such an adjustment would not harm the story in any way and would help us impatient ones to go through the story meaningfully while waiting for your new great ideas... but most of all, thank you again for the great work on the update, which has maintained its great level and story.

Im new into this game and update, but sofar im pleased and think its a great and well done work sofar. and with 3-4 month update there is time to exiting wait for the latest. Keep the good work up! And i will also join thisa and support the way i can.
I love the short updates, but waiting 3 or 4 months for just a 0.1 version feels way too long. I’d honestly prefer a major 1.0 update once a year. I’d rather have 10 episodes delivered at once every year than waiting months for just one single episode

I m going through a issue in the game, when ever I click on her bag the screen pops up with ' an exception has occurred ' due to which I m not able to see my objectives left 😭😭😭😭😭 please fix this 😭😭😭😭😭🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I think it's one of the best games in the category, I've played many games, all kinds, but I think this is the only one with the right theme, the right visual experiences, very well written into the story, excellent graphics and it's enjoyable to try this theme. It's true that we really look forward to the updates and at the same time we keep the finished game short, but I think this is just a sign of how well you work. In the game, that this is not just a put-together game, but there is truly individuality in it and we thank you for your work. We have one question for me at least, don't stop. Fwiw, I loved the update too, and I'm super psyched to see more sauna scenes, more with Wyatt, hell, more in general. Loved all the effort put into the VR 3some scene, too. As much as I love this AVN and I can't get enough of it (it's literally one of my most often played next to IoM, ORS, GGGB, etc.), it's awesome of you to not want to compromise on quality just for faster releases. Honestly, SoD is going to be a gold standard AVN when the full thing releases, if it isn't already, so keep up the great work and try to ignore the critics who're never satisfied. Their brains are broken.

Don't regret that there wouldn't be anyD&D scenes any more. This didnt fit to the character any way. She is A girl Who deal with mafia boss, Who deal with university principal, ant e. t., and in the end of that she play games with some nerd Kids. If you Want to create depravity part with young unpleasant guys,better make her substituted teacher of some side medical courses. ALSO...the talk with her husband where they discused his cuckold kinks and she said that she is A size qeen....... well... I have some experience like A Bull for couples, and later also in swinging. And no one of these Men Who shared theyr wives was nor beta male, nor poor equiped. Oposite,most of them was realy alpha male with realy strong relationship.
I just finished playing 5.1 a moment ago. The classroom scene got me so hard, damn. Can’t wait for the next update—keep it up!
Just keep doin what you are doin. you put out what you want when you want its a story you are telling if people have complaints they should keep it to themselves they are not the ones doing the work or the story telling. supporters come and go, in the end enough will stick around and new ones will show up for you to finish your product. im sticking around because i appreciate the work you are doing.
I would ask here too. Is something changed in the story in 5.0. Becouse i played this 5.1 with saves from previouse update. Do i must started New game?
Old saves work just fine, just make sure they are not from Christmas DLC.
I think this update is very good! It seems to pave the way for the future, and the quality of this update is the same.

I’m fine with the 6 scenes format. they are alright in my opinion. what I would like more of is the special events to be more of. instead of just one scene of the gym how about 2, and adding 2 to the homeless guy at the park, add more to the bathroom scene at the school. why not add 2 extra levels at pole dancing. or a few extra animations to bar tending where shes showing off more for more tips or customers are touching her or looking more. thats my two cents. I’m fine with how everything is going just the extras are lacking content for 1 or 2 extra scenes all together. great work overall
I also thought it was a great update. And I can't wait to see how this update springboards us into the next one. As far as it being small: it's an amazing game, with incredible visuals, and a wonderful story. So, as everyone else has mentioned, of course it's going to take time. It's a compliment that some people are criticizing that it's not long enough. But those people would want more even if it was a four hour update. So thank you for acknowledging the appreciative and faithful supporters. I adore Riley and SoD. Keep doing what you do and look to the positives.
I am a huge fan of this update. Take your time and keep doing what your doing. As a fan of Riley and Dean and having Riley rival madison. To make it where Riley is the only one with the Dean and madison is gone, that is something I am waiting to see more of and the outcome/aftermath of that. With that said I still enjoy what you have been doing and take your time. We all have our favorites and I listed mine above and paitently waiting on that with Dean and Riley and Madison gone since she's been rivaled.
I absolutely love the stellar work that you bring to SoD and I appreciate that it can be months between one big update to the next big update, but in my opinion and I’m sure many other fans of the game who genuinely appreciate the time and dedication you put into it will agree that you cannot rush perfection. Those who are too quick to complain that a new “big” update lacks certain content are as you say not looking at the bigger picture and following the story, SoD has a great story and each character feels so alive and is unique in a way that they are all leading different lifestyles. Honestly I absolutely appreciate everything you are doing with SoD I’ve been following your journey for quite a while now and am really excited to see where the rest of 2026 leads not to mention 2027 when the full game releases. Keep up the phenomenal work I for one will be there every step of the way 🔥🔥
I truly love the artistic work you’ve created. The fact that people are so impatiently waiting for longer updates shows just how good your game is. You’re honestly my number one choice when it comes to adult visual novel games. I’m eagerly looking forward to future updates and the full release of the game. (By the way, of course it’s a matter of personal preference, but I tend to rush through the DnD parts since they don’t really appeal to me.)

I am also a fan of this game and I really like it, but I have a problem with update 5.1. My saved game progress disappeared, I complete tasks and they still remain in the 'to-do' section, in the gym I only have the basic exercises active, and if I understood fooxied's post correctly, there was some sex scene with the trainer? I suspect that in this situation I won't see many things in update 5.1?! I reinstalled the game and nothing changed, do I have to play completely from the beginning????🤔🫣
You need to play through the game and the scene should be visible/locked after clicking on gym lockers.

I believe that D&D will not be canceled because it is a pretty good variety and it is great how diverse the events are, but the connection between them is great so it is not overpaid, it is simply great.
As Gabe Newell once said: These things, they take time. I've been waiting for a continuation to Half-Life since 2007. I think I can handle an update to this game three or four times a year. People really need to chill and I guess unless you actually work on the game, the regular crowd has no idea how much work goes into it. As always, keep up the good work.
I'm enjoying the game. Riley is my top game girl and I enjoy the story. I get people wanting updates to come quicker, but people do have lives and building as much as you already have takes a lot of time. So I for one will be patient and await the next update. Keep up the great work.
I've posted here and on Steam on as many discussion threads as I could trying to explain, reasonably, that this update was a bridge update to maybe get some people to chill out. Sure, I'd have loved more content, more 'closure' on some scenes, but I understand a EA game is a process, not a destination yet. Besides, some of the haters should take into account the expectation of good things to come... as Fooxied said, people are so 'I want it NOW' these days that they simply cant fanthom a small wait. Anyways, this is my favorite game - and I have been playing this genre for awhile now - and I'm confident in the quality of the final product. Besides, I do enjoy the expectation it builds up. So, please, Fooxied, stick to your guns and let the white noise just float by. Focus on what you want for this project cause we - the true fans - are loving it so far. And mate, please, enjoy your achievements - you are doing something that truly stands out in a genre filled with mediocre pseudo-games.
It seem's it was mostly a few over on steam that were complaining. But to be fair, a lot of vn games on that platform don't update that regularly unless it's a full season. So that could have been part of it. Me personally, any day we get a SoD update is a good day.

This game has a distinct atmosphere, shaped by its sound design, locations, and story. It’s great to see you staying true to the original vision despite the pressure. As I mentioned before, players will miss Riley once the game is complete. It’s no surprise that people grow impatient while waiting for new updates. I genuinely envy those who will get to experience the finished game without the anticipation we’re dealing with now.

My opinion: Faster update cycles will always cut into content. And honestly, it is more fun to have a longer content to view than to see small content more often.
And some people prefer smaller, more frequent updates. If we released only one update per year, they wouldn’t be able to experience half of it halfway through the year. But with smaller updates: "...if you don’t like shorter updates, you can wait for two updates to come out, or for the full release of the game at the end of 2027."

Whatever content you will provide, it will be always too short. Take it as a proof of appreciation of the work you do. The game is good, the story is good, the adult content is also. You could make an infinite story with 500 episodes, it would be always too short, too fast, and so on. I admite I always wants more also, but the expectation is still a good thing. Waiting for it make the experience better.

Hey Fooxied! Just finished Episode 5.1 and I really loved it! 🔥 The update was amazing — the slow-burn scenes were super hot and the teasing actually made everything feel even better. The new scenes with Richard and Elijah were excellent, I’m so happy we got more content with my two favorite characters. I know how much work goes into every single render and animation, so huge respect for keeping the quality this high. Thank you for all the effort you put in! Can’t wait for 5.2! Hoping we’ll see Riley earning money in some new spicy ways (maybe more online/camming stuff or special methods 😉) and of course even more scenes with Richard and Elijah. Thanks for taking the time to write this. SoD is one of the best AVNs I've played in terms of story and graphics. Its engaging and clearly makes you wanting more. Looking forward to what's coming. I'm hoping we get another scene with the flasher in the park lol.
