Your opinion on AI animations in visual novels.
Hello everyone, King here! Recently, I've been seeing more and more visual novel style games with AI generated animations, some of them even pretty cool. I’d like to know what you guys think about it. Personally, I don't think it's cool to have everything made by AI, but I'm not against occasional animations, for example, a character punching another one or performing some action that would be complicated to animate in Daz and would probably never be animated otherwise. So, tell me your opinion.

I have a ton of visual novel games on steam and I just subbed to show some support because GTU has been one of the best I have played so far. If what is on steam is AI - then I guess I support it more than I thought. But that is what I was enjoying is that it seemed like it was actually modeled and rendered. I think the way the game is now is great and if it takes more time Id rather wait. But if something AI can be done tastefully then I guess I would support it.
I'm glad you liked it! At the moment, there's no AI use in the game other than for translation. That said, the idea is to use AI to animate situations that would be very hard to animate with the software and would likely end up static otherwise. Either way, it'll be an extra for season one only and that can be turned off at any time.
I play some really good ones. But there are some gnarly ones. If done right with high degree of care. Meaning don't put broken animations in there for the sake of getting a update out . I would rather you abandoned an AI scene and taking longer then putting sub par visual out.
I enjoy the realism of Ai animation models, bringing the model to life. I have seem Ai models so real that I actually believed that the model was a actual human being.
I am fine with it as long as quality is not impacted and people don't end up with more limbs or fingers than they should have. lol.
If it speeds up production, I'm all in.
Just going to be blunt rather than looking to appeal. Just ask yourself if you're using the poll for actual sincerity, or if you're using it for justification. Either way, personally I'm pretty mixed on it. Definitely a better/easier way to streamline for smaller teams or solo developers. But at the same time, if animations were never an issue to work with before and are just a little bit more time consuming, then it'd probably come out higher quality and with genuine passion.
I'm indifferent with one caveat, a human should review the results for quality control. If it looks bad or not up to standard, don't use it.
Just becarefull most of Ai generated are kind of bland when it comes to some activity try throughly test and see it first 🫡
As long as it looks good and the story is good. Im fine with it.
I've been around VN's from pixels to AI. I just see it as natural peogression
As long as the story and the visual are good, it shouldn't matter what tools you use to make them. I can understand people who doesn't like change and are scared of it. But lets be real, vinyl album and cassette have made ways to streaming and downloads. I think that design and animation are going to evolve that way too.. AI is here to stay and its not a flavor of the week. Smart people will adapt. There is nothing wrong to stay purist and animate and draw like always. In a way its the purest form of art... but we cannot deny the new tool also. There are space for everyone. Its my opinion anyway.
I don't care 😅. I'm just here to support you and play the game, nothing else 😁.
