Why does the boys' journey have to be so difficult? Blood on the fence and barbed wire on the ground make the scene seem more like a concentration camp than a spiritual journey, which is what I've been hoping for. I respect your decisions as author, but could we perhaps have a little less Gotterdammerung and a little more hope?
that's a very specific comparison of you to choose (the word "prison" was right there). with you probably knowing that the story is set in Germany, i can only assume you wanted to put me in a position where i have to justify/explain my decisions. i will gladly do so, however i want to be honest with you and tell you that making me do that won't change the way i'm going to write the story. blood has been a very prominent visual storytelling element and will continue to be, especially in combination with Noah's red flowers! it will appear in places or on bodyparts that might make readers uncomfortable. the fencing has been mentioned in the story several times. Noah has been freely going in and out of it. the fence is supposed to keep people out, not in! an attempt to keep them out of harm (because of this the comparison to a concentration camp makes even less sense to me) the place Robin is about to climb into and enter is the closed area. This area is ecologically and biologically dangerous, harmful for humans and animals alike. this also has been stated a few times through the story, and is the sole reason why the barbed wire has been laid out. however, i also want to show the careless actions of the government of having abandoned the place in its current state. there has been no upkeep over the course of 30 years and the fencing and barbed wire have been carelessly thrown and have rusted, there are holes in certain areas etc. this will be a topic later in the story. as for the topic of more hope: Ghost Lights is and always has been a story about hope and there will be hope up to the very last second!! but the genres are somewhere along the lines of supernatural eco horror romance, so i want to ask you to please read the warnings stated at the beginning of the story again! here you go: "I'll tell this story in a gentle and melancholic way rather than being overly graphic, and the boys will be a source of comfort and support for each other, but because of the nature of the plot certain parts could be very upsetting to some readers. therefore, here are some warnings: drowning, blood, injuries, reincarnation, death, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), hallucinations, sleep paralysis, sleep walking, body horror, psychological horror, supernatural force both main characters will repeatedly lose control over their actions and their bodies in a state of trance no other warnings will be listed due to spoilers!" https://tapas.io/episode/549548 i hope this clears things up on what the story has been about from the very beginning 😭 horror yes, hope yes. both always at once.

I'm scared Robin is gonna have PTSD from this 😭 We know he carries loss and trauma from his past life, but this is his current life and he'll probably remember all of this 😭

I love how Robin’s coping mechanism is complaining. Makes me feel like his spirit self will take over just so he’ll stop whining (though I think the situation is a bit too serious for that)

Is SOOOO EERIE I love how you visually convey how different Noah's voice is now that he's (semi?) transformed Im so curious whats about to happen and im also curious to see why the barbed wire...? I wonder if it has anything to do with why Noah always has wounded hands/paws... Also I love that with all the surreality I cant tell if Robin sees the clearly very important red flowers. Your art is so beautiful and the ATMOSPHERE is so good. I cant do the full like... analysis(?) of these last few episodes right this second but im SO intrigued. Looking forward to next month 💚

Ooo good call out! If Noah fully gone to the spirit form... and Robin hasnt... that's a good question! I wonder if its related to why Robin has /generally/ been more grounded and less connected to the supernatural than Noah has throughout the whole series or if theres a particular reason for being grounded in this scene here... or both?
