Hey everyone,
Apparently, YouTube decided that I have been working too hard lately, so they generously gave me a surprise two-week vacation.🥰
Over the past ten days, four of my tutorial videos were removed for allegedly containing Voldemort content, the policy that shall not be named, because I’m now afraid of using certain words on basically every platform at this point.
The latest video was initially restricted because of a timestamp showing, drum roll🥁🥁🥁 please…

So, of course, I appealed it, like the smart good boy that I am, and only a few minutes later, YouTube found a completely different timestamp showing a fully clothed woman on a fictional fashion magazine cover.
Apparently, normal fashion photography is now dangerously shreksual, so the entire tutorial was removed and I received my second strike. Oh boy, how fun!❤️❤️
Because of that, I cannot upload videos or even make community posts on YouTube until August 1. All four appeals have been pending since July 10, and after spending many hours talking to support, the final answer from the higher-up YouTube Gods was basically:
“Just wait for the decision via email, bruh.” ☝️🤓
I’m not going to pretend that I’m feeling amazing about the situation. Another strike could mean the complete deletion of my YouTube channel, so yes, this has been incredibly stressful, and I’m honestly pretty down right now, especially since those strikes are active until mid October...
But don’t worry. I’m not disappearing, quitting, or going anywhere. 😤
I’ve released a lot of videos over the past few months, so I’m trying to treat this as a forced two-week break. I’m still working on projects behind the scenes, experimenting with new things, and I’ll remain active here on Patreon either in the comments or in DMs.
And seriously, thank you again to everyone supporting me here.
You guys are the reason YouTube can suddenly lock me out for two weeks without completely destroying everything. Your support gives me the freedom to take that insane hit and continue working.

Sadly, YouTube is a near monopoly and, equally sadly, they're American, which means they force their standards of morality on everyone else.

And SproutVideo it's just $11 per month the standard account that it's more than enough for your posting quantity / frequency. I have made an Odysee channel now, pretty pratical since it automatically synced all of my Youtube videos already.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately Youtube has become a complete shill of itself over the last few years. Really pushing someone like me "the little guy" to come up with something better that everyone can enjoy and freely use without ridiculous constraints. Either way we still appreciate your awesome work.

This is beyond ridiculous. The censors are killing everything. Basically, their motto should be: "Where FUN goes to die." I vaguely remember that you posted something "scandalous" on another channel once without consequences. Have you considered moving stuff there in addition to YouTube, just to be safe? (I realize you do not want to get rid of YouTube altogether, since it would mean a significant revenue loss for you, but maybe consider adopting an alternative site, too?)

Hey K, I think this is an opportunity for you to explore the freedom that owning your own platform and audience could bring. I would encourage you to duplicate all of your content over to Odysee (and the platform beneath that called LBRY) right away. Unfortunately you may have to make a redacted version of your videos for YouTube from now on, and encourage your viewers to visit the full version over on the new site. Speaking of which, make a website and get a censorship resistant domain name using Handshake (HNS). The goal of videos should not just be to educate us but to drive viewers to the new website, Discord or Gumroad to build community. Google is not a reliable partner and you have to decouple revenue generation from them ASAP. Please feel free to contact me here if you need any help with this. With AI coding tools we could bang this out in a day or two.

Hey Man! I know all about appeals. Had many involving benefits and work, they impose these rules to make them feel strong. You know you are right, that's what matters. This will only make you stronger. Stick with it, as you have your subscribers who back you all the way.
They can remove your channel even without the 3rd strike on a whim. I'd recommend expanding to other platforms or even adding a personal site. Odysee and Rumble have far more relaxed rules (they don't have a crazy AI or minimum wage human NPCs carelessly going on a ban spree). Of course they don't get that many views either, but it's a relatively safe place for your video library where you don't have to excessively censor yourself and Odysee videos can be embedded in Patreon posts. X is probably the place for the largest audience, though, but it's usually funny memes that make waves there. If you can mix some of that with tutorials then you could have some success there.

Hey man, welcome to being an adult in the world. It sucks. I had a very similar thing happen to me about 15 years ago, differen situation, platform, but same unecessary bitch slap that really stressed me out for 3 months of held revenue and no knowledge if it will end the next day or never. I grew a lot during that time. then, I got something worse, and bigger and more $$$.. I still came out alive on the other end. A bit bruised and shaken. But, also wiser, and more cautious. Perhaps too cautious. But, if you haven't been slapped like that, you aren't really trying hard enough, so welcome aboard the next level. It's a pain ful one, but, a necessary one. Keep your head up. Take that time off, try not to think about it too much. And learn to diversify, and CYA. Maybe try the Nomad life, come to Bali, or Phillipines. stay a while, Be a more of a man of the world. I'll buy the first round.
