Sakura Sadist Delay and important news

Hello everybody~

Maybe you've heard about the news, that quite a lot of visual novels on Steam need to be rebuild or 'adjusted' more. If you haven't heard about it yet, click here to see an article about this topic.

With that said, we also received a mail that we have to adjust a few of our games, which are the ones that have a patch.
Since we prepared a patch for Sadist already but don't want to cause any trouble with it, we want to take care of the changes first, which also affects Sakura Sadist, and then release the game.

So Sakura Sadist will be delayed by a week, to give us some time to sort things out. I hope that we don't disappoint you guys and that we can come up with a good solution :)

We've also taken down the download links to the patches for now but we'll keep you up to date if anything changes.

I hope you all have a nice weekend~

So...this patch you speak of means people who have the games are getting content taken away from them?

W
Winged Cloud · May 24, 2018

We would come up with another solution then; we'll post another update later~

Meganechan · May 21, 2018

As long as you guys don't talk about the patches on Steam, you should be fine. I've seen some devs say something like "We're not allowed to discuss or host such adult content on Steam. For more information, visit: [url where patch can be found]"

There's obviously some automated system for reporting content that can be abused (like YouTube's copyright claim) where creators are guilty until proven innocent. Even if Valve is walking back, I'd still say look into alternatives for worst case scenario. Never put all your eggs in one basket

If you sold your VN on denpasoft.com I would buy.

K
Kuja Kuzi · May 19, 2018

https://denpasoft.com/ would also be a good platform to sell on

They already tried it when they were in a partnership with Sekai Project but then there was a fallout as well as the fact Sekai Project released information about Winged Cloud being awful people. So I doubt very much that there will be another collaboration between those two companies in the near future.

Mack McCall · May 19, 2018

Will there still be a patch for sakura sadist althou they have to censor it more than it probably already is

N
Naoko_Halari · May 19, 2018

Well looks like I may be focusing on nutaku for your games in the future. Valves hypocrisy at it's finest. Allow games like GTA V, Witcher III, or even the saints row series to run free waiving their dildo bats in the air but a game that doesn't even allow adult content unless patched is a no no. Also I think itch.io would be a good site to distribute on. Some other VNs on steam are released uncensored by default on itch as well as some other games with more extreme sexual content than anything present in all Sakura VNs combined (strive for power for example)

S
Silvador · May 19, 2018

I vote pull all games from Steam and sell them on an individual, stand-alone site. F this BS. I'm sick and fucking tired of some prude fuck-nugget getting squeamish over some jiggling tits. We're fucking adults and have the RIGHT to enjoy adult material at our leisure without it being forcibly censored like it's the mother fucking 17-th century. This isn't fucking China! >:C

Ran Yakumo · May 19, 2018

what a shizzle show

S
Saint of Grey · May 19, 2018

When you say 'adjust', do you mean 'make uncensored patches not work'?

W
Winged Cloud · May 19, 2018

Something like this, yeah :( We don't want to force anything yet, since we don't know if it's about the patches, but yes, the direction is pretty much right

L
LilRaptor · May 19, 2018

It's super-weird that Steam targets visual novels with still images while keeping mature games with sex still around. Heck, indie-games that are heavily dependant on sexy visuals like "Sexy Serial Killer" t.ex. are around probably. But then again, Valve/Steam doesn't even have so one can put ones actual age on once account. Always with the manually typing once dates as you log to see a mature-game.

LoE Ferret · May 19, 2018

If you move to another platform or are planing to use another one, let us know. I am doing videos on your series (not an ad, my videos are terribad) and am willing to go back through and change the links to the new platform on all videos.

W
Winged Cloud · May 19, 2018

Thank you :) it's the effort that counts~ But we'll let you know when we have any news on it

T
TysonL · May 19, 2018

sorry steam giving you issues but i honestly only buy your games because of the patches. and lot of other steam users only buy for the same reason.

J
Jonathan C · May 19, 2018

*waves my hand old Jedi Mind Trick style* these are not the patches you are looking for

W
Winged Cloud · May 19, 2018

*gasp* where are they anyway ? Your trick might have worked ;)

S
Sparkino · May 19, 2018

Wait I don't get it, does that mean you have to change the patch content? Or the base game without the patch? I thought patch stuff was not touchable by Steam aside from no longer being able to link 18+ patches.

W
Winged Cloud · May 19, 2018

We assume it's about the games having a patch, which isn't only a thing for VNs but... oh well :)

M
Mack McCall · May 19, 2018

Is the controversy about the patches or the sexual content in the censored games

L
LoE Ferret · May 19, 2018

If it is about patching then why has Valve not attacked games like Skyrim and Fallout. Some of the most downloaded mods are nude mods, and skimpy costume mods. No issue there. Just BS from Valve bowing to SJWs

R
RaptorTim · May 18, 2018

Apparently, Valve does not like money

A
Amiee-Lewise Watkins · May 18, 2018

But didn't you guys already make separate folders for the hentai patches/sexual content when releasing the censored versions onto Steam?

M
Mack McCall · May 18, 2018

Also why are the only going for the anime dev’s and not the AAA dev’s that have sexualized content in there games 😑

A
Amiee-Lewise Watkins · May 18, 2018

Probably because people keep on reporting those games as they can't differentiate between reality and fiction. Other than that, a lot of users on Steam also feel the same easy as you guys with other Visual Novels such as A Kiss For The Petals: Maiden's of Michael.

M
Mack McCall · May 18, 2018

Just as i thought steam was lightening up on sexual content rip cant wait for your new game 😋

n
nexs1901 · May 18, 2018

I'm also curious about the patches, I love your games, I have between a dozen or so and hate that steam is cause problems.

M
Mack McCall · May 18, 2018

Also what should we do with the existing patches

M
Mack McCall · May 18, 2018

When was the release date before the delay

W
Winged Cloud · May 18, 2018

today actually

n
nexs1901 · May 18, 2018

Steam continues to make me hate them ^_^:

S
Sten · May 18, 2018

This is why I avoid steam for vn's if at all possible. I would rather buy direct or through a different source like manga gamer for example

i
icedkocha · May 18, 2018

I don't know if Winged Cloud would work with Mangagamer again. I do know they sell game s on Nutaku (uncensored) but I don't know how much that goes towards sales compared to Steam, and don't know if they'd want to disclose that

i
icedkocha · May 18, 2018

Maybe itch.io would work as an alternative? I've also seen a lot more eroge being put up on Fakku lately

A
Amiee-Lewise Watkins · May 18, 2018

Do they even allow sexual content to be uploaded onto their website?

Z
Zxios · May 18, 2018

So that Sakura bundle I got a while back is going to be useless now too?

K
Kimgaemandoo · May 18, 2018

According to Huniedev's testimony and other previous cases, the disappearance of the game in Steam's store does not mean that the game in the library will disappear.

S
Str Ant · May 18, 2018

I read you want to be boycotted for bowing to "Morality in Media"

C
Cfdude · May 18, 2018

I emailed you guys about it, figures you guys got hit. I'm sure you have a plan
