An Honest Update: Production Speed and the Gay Arc
We ran a patron survey and read through it. Two things came up louder than everything else, so I want to hit both head-on. No vague “maybe someday” this time.
Fixing the Speed
The number one thing you told us is that our updates take too long. You’re right.
Over the past five years, our animation quality has gone way up. The levels look better than ever, but that jump is exactly what slowed their creation. It sucks to have to wait almost a year between drops.
So we’re doing something about it. We brought on a new animator to speed things up, and my goal is to deliver one new level every quarter (every three months). It’s the pace we’re building toward, and one we’re going to do our best to keep.
We’re Committing to the Gay Arc
A lot of you remember the Gay Arc used to be a Patreon milestone reward, and then it quietly never happened. Here’s the deal.
Patreon removed the milestone feature entirely from creators, and the thing we tied the promise to just disappeared. Back then, we were smaller and dumber, with simpler animations, and it might have been doable. We were naive, and we couldn’t keep that promise.
But we never forgot it. Five years in, we know what’s possible now, and we can set goals we can actually hit.
So I’m saying it publicly, we are committed to making the Gay Arc. My contractors are on board, the new animator is here, it’s going to happen, or we’ll die trying.
But I’ll be straight with you. At the quality we work at now, a whole new set of levels coming out for FREE like this requires an enormous amount of work on top of what we’re already doing, and people have bills to pay. If we want to get it out fast, without running the studio into the ground, we NEED growth on our Patreon. The more support we have, the more hands we put on it, and the sooner it ships. Your patronage is the speed dial for this. And we'll make sure patrons can see early access to all the concepts of the gay arc, and play the levels first as part of their patronage.
This is a promise I intend to keep. Thanks for sticking with us. Let’s make it happen, gang.

Newer subscriber here, but I think it's funny, to read "we're committed to the gay arc" followed up with "let me be straight with you". But hey power to you guys and hopefully you complete the game fully in the future at a efficient and comfortable pace. 👍 (Claire is my fav :) )

Honestly I'm shocked that the very long release dates where even brought up I would always unsub and wait for the next update to launch and I was always unfortunate because I love this game but if updates will release every three month's im assuming that's what the post is saying feel free to correct me if I'm wrong then I will start subbing and stay subbed on a regular I truly want to see this game flourish and succeed
I’d agree with that! It seems like a nice dlc content or split story path for people who are into the content
Hey BunFan! I have a question for you guys, l i think that inclusivity is amazing and greatly brings attention and more fans to the game, but I’d like to ask a question, for fans like me who are heterosexual, gay content isn’t the most appealing so I am wondering if there is talk of- or if its possible to make the arc skippable or some form of side content for the straight supporters? I think that the project is amazing and I love seeing the growth of the studio and expansion into new characters and to see it gain more attention but I was just curious because I know that since the story is linear most, if not all of the scenes aren’t able to be skipped. so it would be nice to not have to go through an entire episode of something you aren’t attracted to and miss out on story content, I also have one more regarding the nature of the story arc, and would like to ask is if its fully gay content or was something more along the lines of like futa (with characters such as gale being a shapeshifter) or femboy, regardless, I will continue to support you and your studios amazing work thank you all for working so hard to give us such high quality music and animation
The gay path is optional.
Maybe the gay arc could be like a split story path at one point for a chapter, so players have the agency to choose, rather than looking at it as dlc that people can add for free
