First of all - I'm stealing the names "Elon's Nazi Paradise" and "Mark's Misinformation Hub", they're wonderful 😹 ─ When I saw that my beloved fairy mod, which I have been using for over 3 years, was removed due to copyright claim, I literally lost the desire to play TS4. I don't care who reported it. SpiningPlumbobs is such a lovely guy who creates fantastic and very complex mods that I can't imagine playing without any of them 😭💔 ─ And now, a look at the inclusiveness of EAxis from the perspective of someone whose language simply doesn't have such a thing as gender-neutral pronouns. We simply don't have them. I don't even know how to attempt to explain this in a simple way, because it's too complicated to explain quickly. But I'll try – imagine that every verb contains a built-in pronoun. We have three pronouns—he, she, and it. And so on, in every tense: future, present, and past. Now try adding any neutral pronoun to such a language. We're still figuring out how to speak in a genderless way, is it even possible? (Yes, it is, but it takes some effort). Gods! What's more, we're just now introducing feminine forms of previously only "male words" (like job titles) into the language. And now EAxis is riding high, rolling out an update overnight that takes away the meaning of terms by requiring them to be written impersonally. Yes, "partner" is also a term for boyfriend/girlfriend, but it has a completely different connotation. A partner is someone with whom you already have future plans, a house on credit, and a child on the way. It's not the right word, but we don't have another. The game's pronoun system doesn't work at all in the Polish version; we're still using the old coding – man and woman. And on top of that, they're introducing impersonal forms for closest people. To say they've overdone it would be an understatement. Zero's mod gives us back linguistic correctness, because at the moment, it's simply impossible to implement this system in a way that makes sense in my native language. But then again, no one is interested in languages other than English, and certainly not EAxis. But gods forbid I even try to raise this topic anywhere online – I'll be labeled homophobic, transphobic, racist, and add the rest of the epithets, which automatically mean I'll be canceled and the discussion will end 😭 Such socially important topics shouldn't be approached from the backside, as it will only be met with opposition and resistance. The Polish language is a complete failure when it comes to inclusivity. And of course, I'm doing everything I can to change that – I always ask the other person how they prefer to be addressed, what pronouns to use, and I try to educate those unfamiliar with the topic about impersonal forms... But such massive changes in language take time and likely the extinction of several generations, who will never be able to grasp the need for an inclusive language (remember, we're at the stage where they laugh at the feminine forms of "masculine words"). I don't even know if my argument makes any sense, because I think I'm trying too hard to summarize several very important aspects in the shortest possible message... Anyway, my point is that EAxis has pulled a stunt, completely ignoring several countries (it's not just Polish language that has this problem) and not even giving us the freedom to choose the game language. Seriously, I only have Polish, Czech, and Russian as options. I can't even choose English without contacting EA support. And that's my starting level in this discussion. As you can see (from my example), I'm not interested in the inclusiveness here (and I think that was the goal of this whole thing), but in the fact that my native language is not adapted to modern times on a terribly abstract level. ─ Geeeeez... I always worry that because my initial message (the one in my head) is in Polish, I'll mess something up during the translation process into English and be understood in a way completely opposite to what I intended. Funny you mention twisted mexi, I actually got into a huge debate with him and others on reddit. After our debate I still felt like he was the most arrogant cocky son a bitch who I will never personally. Steal all his mods idc lol him and his little minions are fkn wild god forbid they see you make a comment about him. As for zero, I'll stay out of that debate. I like his mods and I personally like having the ability to call my spouse my husband or wife and girlfriend etc and apparently others who don't even identify with a gender also still like using a gender. idk I'm all for trans people I think zero just really went the wrong way about it but I get it if others feel a way about him. Either way I genuinely respect you as a creator and I did start to delete some of the messages because I didn't want you to feel obligated plus I'm always having a new thought come to my mind. I also felt like I was annoying you lol. Anyways you're one of the few I respect. I also was recently blocked on Patreon by a fkn person I was subscribed too and paid for and lemme say Patreon does not give a fuck. I think it was more petty than anything so now I learned you can end up wasting your fkn money on creators and Patreon will not give a rats ass. Fuck Patreon they don't care about accessibility issues for people like myself nor does Tumblr, or Sims Resource. Honestly the community is not all that great lmao. Sorry you had a terrible experience with that creator's discord. That's run by lot 51 or Powluna? Idk they both seem rude lmao. I really am starting to have a list of people not to support or use their mods. Another creator kink shames so I'm also done supporting them and their minions can also sxx my clxt because I don't think it's right at all to do so. Anyways. Thank you for being one of the few that sees through a lot of these creator's bullshit and self entitlement. It's wild out here.
