๐Ÿž [EP01] BUGWATCH - Le Petit Mannequin -- I initially wrote this up as a BUGFIX post, hence the incorrect "header" section BUGFIX-oriented parlance. I'll fix it later.

๐Ÿ•’ <BLOWS RASPBERRY> We're getting ahead of ourselves. I should BUGWATCH this post.

โ€”

I've read that mannequins are a hot mess.

I make no promises that I can or will ever try to fix every single issue reported with mannequins, but maybe I can do something about something.

For instance, I'm totes unlocking that "Dance with Mannequin" interaction for all sims. Stahp limiting my fun with your silly Traits, EAxis. I'm a socially awkward, antisocial, megalomaniacal goofball who loves colorful and fluffy things, and I will dance with that mannequin whenever I darn well feel like it! <HUFFS>

Is this a BUGFIX?

Wait for it...

โ‹†โ‹… "TOTES ONLY AFFECTS MALE / FEMININE FRAME SIMS":

EAxis is never getting away from that nonsense, nor should they.

F.Y.I. I have no idea if this specific issue with mannequins has ever been reported.

Transframe sims, a.k.a. sims with opposite Physical Frames, like my Scarlet, who is, in fact, "Male with Feminine Frame" (๐Ÿ˜น) are totes being discriminated against by the unassuming half-arsed mannequins, and I will tolerate it no longer! That's meant to be a funny, but also, there are indeed problems with mannequins and transframe sims.

I haven't dedicated the time required in order to give a "best to my ability" explanation of how or why this is !@#$ed - because I'm trying to finish EnterBathing - but it's !@#$ed.

The first part of this issue - which appears to be its own issue - is that transframe sims can't seem to always "Try On Outfit" or "Purchase Outfit" from mannequins whether the outfit is a "Create Random Outfit..." outfit or a "Create Outfit in CAS" outfit. This issue seems more to do with incompetent CAS PartFlags. Sometimes I can "Try On" but not "Purchase", and other times I can't do either, but sometimes I can do both? Que? Maybe it's a combination of incompetent "Restrict Opposite" PartFlags, missing "Opposite Gender Part" Identifiers, and "Fashion Choice" PartFlags?

The second issue - which does not appear to be directly related to the first issue - is clothes and Physical Frames mismatching because mannequin interactions are "Gender" restricted.

Why are mannequin interactions "Gender" restricted?

You don't really want ME to answer that, do you? No. I don't think so. ๐Ÿ˜น

The second issue appears to be easily resolved by simply removing the unnecessary "Gender" restrictions, and wouldn't you know, doing so also band-aids the first issue by allowing transframe sims to interact with the mannequins what match their Physical Frame - in other words, M/FF Scarlet can totes "Try On" and "Purchase" all the cute girly clothes from the F/FF mannequin now... providing the clothes aren't a "Restrict Opposite Gender" PartFlag disaster.

How will these machinations I've wrought affect RNG retail customers?

Will F/FF sims start buying M/MF clothing and vice versa?

Who knows.

I might have to refine this to restrict the interactions based on "Clothing Preference" or "Physical Frame" if possible. <HEAVY SIGH> Troubleshooting EP01: OPEN FOR BIDNESS ain't on my bingo card.

ON A TANGENT - Are you getting an idea of how deep this incompetent "Restrict Opposite" PartFlag rabbit hole goes? I know transframe sims are a minority, but there's a problem here (which also affects cisframe sims in some instances), and it don't require a rocket science degree to fix. It only feels like rocket science because we're on THIS side of the problem.
