🦄 Patreon responded: Post attachments are in!

I said:

Thank you for rolling out the "post type" changes!

I am currently unable to monetize my account. This is a banking issue on my end because I live in a backward country, and has nothing to do with your service.

My question is, is it okay for me to add file attachments directly to my posts? I make videogame mods, so these files are in the format of ZIP ARCHIVES usually.

I ask because I got it into my head some long time ago that Patreon would require my account to be monetized if I was "hosting" my mods directly on my Patreon posts, so I started hosting them "off-site" and linking to them.

My Patreon free membership has grown from 1 to over 400 in the last 15 months. While I know this isn't a fantastical number when compared to other creators, it's a big number to me.

If I there are no concerns I need to consider while I still cannot monetize my account, it would be nice to offer these members a direct way to download the "game mod" they're reading about via the attachments feature without having to go off-site.

I hope I made the question clear, I just woke up and my brain is still booting up.

Then they said:

Hi there,

[...]

You are welcome to add attachments to your posts for your members. This is totally up to you, as it is your page to make unique!

I hope this helps!

So, that's that!

I've been mucking around with the layout of my posts ever since I started attaching mods directly to them. It's minor stuff - I put the RELEASE NOTES above the download options. I dunno how I feel about it. I kinda like my "NOTICE ME, SENPAI" on top.

In any case, my Sim File Share (which is currently in a mess with duplicate folders - sorry, the internet has not improved and still drops multiple times a day) and my Google Drives (plural - I intend to move preview images for my Main Menu Backgrounds over to the new "preview" account where the preview audio for my Silencio overrides are located) aren't going anywhere.

Getting the green light means mods might release a lil faster though, 'cause I won't have to fuss over uploading and organizing and grabbing links.

Cheers!
