...there are creators talking about how to manufacture FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) with their subscription tiers and their rewards and I'm just there thinking...

WE COMPLAIN WHEN "CORPORATE" DOES IT BUT THEN YOU'RE GONNA TURN AROUND AND DO THE SAME !@#$ING THING TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE GENEROUS ENOUGH OR WELL OFF ENOUGH TO SUPPORT YOU AND THE !@#$ YOU'RE DOING? <INHALES SHARPLY> WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?

If I ever pull this !@#$ in the future, point me back to this and ask me "what the actual fuck are you doing?"

I get it, we all want and need money to survive in this hellscape we've created for ourselves, but can we maybe not be predatory about it?

"Manufactured" FOMO is predatory. If I'm creating something and I have limited resources so I can only make X amount at any given time, that's FOMO, but it's legitimate FOMO. If I'm pretending I can only make X amount in order to exploit that Fear Of Missing Out that so many of us have in order to get you to give me money, it's predatory.

This is why I'm not "a good businessman". I am not a capitalist shark. 🦈
