π₯ CAS Overrides Master Post β‘ 1/1/2025 - I need to make this more efficient + I need to overhaul this post.
ββ β‘ EVERYTHING BELOW THIS SECTION IS THE OP.
The information contained within isn't incorrect, I just haven't updated it since August 2024. It was meant to be a "master post" for my CAS Override releases, but other projects took focus, and also, I'm deviating away from single master posts.
With "Goodbye Clownies" being a thing, I can prioritize other aspects of my CAS Overrides over disabling Allow For Random on all accessories and makeup, so I'm thinking I link this mod in every CAS Override release and push out CAS Overrides in updates - complete a category and release it merged, then complete another category at a later date and push it as an update. Doing this will allow me to address the critical things sooner without getting frustrated that I have to override hundreds of items in one go.
When I started CAS Overrides I didn't have this issue with fatigue, and I could go on for hours staring at my old 32 inch repurposed TV, but then my cat accidentally toppled it over and now I'm stuck using a faulty 12.9 inch tablet with Steam Link as a monitor for my PC. I'm near-sighted and I wear glasses, but sometimes my eyes refuse to adjust and I have to take off my glasses to get anything done, which leads to fatigue. Fatigue isn't the only reason EP17 has taken so long - it's the holidays - but it is the part of the reason I don't get excited about CAS Overrides like I use to.
I want to finish EP17 today - it's been "almost done" for days - and I might do a "limited release" for BG immediately after and before circling back around to EP16.

ββ π§ THIS POST IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION!
7/26/2024 - EP16_Lovestruck's Endgame Overrides are coming Soonβ’. Following that, I'd like to bring AnimXGenWear to a release state then I need to release the CASMenu because some of my Endgame Overrides require restricted CAS Categories to be unlocked. When those two are done, I'd like to update the CAS Overrides already released for Goth Galore Kit, Crystal Creations Stuff Pack, and Urban Homage Kit before I move on.
7/10/2024 - I think I've finally settled on how I merge these things. Merged files are a pain in my.. paw. I'm gonna release some of the overrides that are finalized, then I want to update the previous pack releases for Goth Galore Kit, Crystal Creations Stuff Pack and Urban Homage Kit to bring them in line with the new changes before anything else. I'm dreading the upcoming release of our new cash grab.
6/24/2024 - I've had a heck of a past few weeks - no internet and my cat toppled over my monitor and FUBAR'd it into Oblivion. C'est la vie. At least my iPad is getting some use. Who knew Steam Link was such a good screen mirroring tool?

ββ πΉ NOW THIS IS A STORY ALL ABOUT HOW...
... I lost all patience with EAxis and I proceeded to override every item in CAS with the use of Sims4Studio and CASTools (see you in the stars, Cmar).
ββ β οΈ CAUTION IS... "ADVISED" IS TOO STRONG A WORD.
There are many items that are hidden in CAS and/or have special purpose, e.g. Career items and DefaultForGender body parts. If during regular gameplay you encounter issues of missing clothing items on your playable sim or NPCs, please let me know. I will do my best to amend the filenames for these items with specific identifies so they can be found and disabled easily. This is why I don't want merged files.
It's also important to know that there's the potential for conflicts with other mods. It won't cause your device to explode, it's just that the override that has priority will have it's configuration applied to the item. Most likely my overrides will need to go in a folder with an appropriate name to keep it prioritized above everything else in your Mods folder. Something like "0verrides" with a zero instead of an oooh, get it? Maybe this is where Resource.cfg editing is actually useful - or just proper Mods folder management!
ββ β’οΈ WHY YOU GOTTA BE SO MEAN?
I am "unkind" when I discuss these issues. Please understand that Base Game was released in 2014, TEN years ago. If EAxis would stop making the same errors with every new content release, I'd be more forgiving, but 78 premium content packs later they continue to apply the wrong PartFlags and use the horrendous bloated mesh on female Tops and FullBody outfits even after numerous AHQ reports over the years. If they can't release a polished product or even be bothered to fix it in a timely fashion post-release, then I am not obligated to be nice. All of this effort I'm putting into these overrides only benefits those of us on PC/Mac. Console simmers still have to contend with all of these issues and the bugs, so yes, I am "irritated". You should be too.
ββ π I'M SHOWING OFF IN THOSE SCREENSHOTS!
No, not like that, but also yes, my androgynous transframe sim is hella sexy!
MY custom CASMenu with my custom Wearables category is featured in additional screenshots. I'll release it when it's finished. It's meant to compliment my Wearables.
Also, my custom Wearables GP04_Vampires Eyecolors are featured. My sim isn't a vampire and I haven't unrestricted occult Eyecolors yet (there's an issue with unrestricted Child occult eyes- actually, it was a similar issue with a vampire Child with glitchy vampire eyes that birthed Wearables). My Wearables will be released Soonβ’ (after the Wearable Hearing Aids update is released).
ββ β οΈ DON'T NOTICE ME YET, SENPAI!
βͺ I feel it coming!
ββ π RELEASE NOTES
π― This is The Endgame.
βοΈ This requires... the corresponding Cash-Grab-With-Piss-Poor-Quality-Control-Because-Deadlinesβ’ Content Pack for the corresponding overrides. What? Too harsh?
π We're laying new foundation with overrides cobbled together under Update 5/28/2024 - PC: 1.107.112.1030 / Mac: 1.107.112.1230 and Update 06/06/2024 - PC: 1.107.151.1020 / Mac: 1.107.151.1230.
βοΈ Outfit Safety is β A MIXED BAG:
Outfit Safety refers to whether or not the modded item will remain in your saved outfits if the mod is removed. For overrides like mine, it depends on what flags are being modified.
Overrides that remove incorrect RestrictOpposite flags are β NEIN! π
Overrides that unrestrict items for Age & Gender are β NEIN! π€
Overrides that fix AgeAppropriate, FashionChoice, OutfitType, Colors, SubPartType and/or alter AllowForRandom, OccultAllowForRandom and DisplayIndex are βοΈ TOTES SAFE, unless they're not. Who really knows? π€
Overrides that fix mesh or texture issues (it's an all-in-one type deal I'm doing here) will obviously revert to their abysmal EAxis Deadlinesβ’ state. So, it's β NEIN! π€¬
𧬠I will review these overrides and update/refresh them accordingly as the game is officially updated, as issues arise, and/or as I gain a better understanding of these PartFlags.
ββ βοΈ WILL IT EVER ACTUALLY END?
Anecdote goes here.
ββ π ONCE MORE INTO THE FRAY!
The last time I'll explain this !@#$, at least until I need to revise everything again.
ββ π A CONDENSED LIST OF FIXES:
Here's an index of PartFlag abbreviations:
AFR / OAFR - AllowForRandom and OccultAllowForRandom
CAS - Create a Sim
ROF - RestrictOppositeFrame AKA the flag they're supposed to use!
ROG - RestrictOppositeGender AKA The Bane of Thine Existence.
Here's another index of Terms used in screenshots:
CASUnlock - ShowInUI enabled.
DisplayIndex - Display Index modified.
NoDEF - DefaultForBodyTypeFemale/Male flags removed.
NoRAND - AllowForRandom and/or OccultAllowForRandom flags removed.
ReCAT - ObjectType modified to re-categorize the item.
π¦ ALL OVERRIDES
ALL CONTENT RELEASES
I've corrected the Age/Gender identifier for some of my filenames.
Some YF/M items are actually YU and some YF are actually YM and vice versa. I don't often modify the identifier of items I've unrestricted for all ages to AU. I also don't fix the internal names. I'd never finish if I did and also, EA ain't paying me enough, or anything for that matter, to fix typos.
All incorrect / inappropriate flags are removed.
All missing flags are added.
All DisplayIndexes are modified to match their corresponding numerical Content Pack identifier.
DisplayIndex controls item order in CAS. This is done to group all content pack items together in order of release. I use decimals for fine-tuning. This change usually only shows if you enable the Custom Content filter in CAS.
Some SecondaryDisplayIndexes are modified.
SDI controls swatch order. It bugs me that some items with Left and Right variants have their swatches in a mismatched mess. It bugs me that Occult Eyecolor is mismatched across age groups. SDI is time consuming and requires the use of CASTools and a lot of mouse button clicking.
Some Maps (Diffuse / Texture, Shadow, etc.) with errors have been corrected. If I notice it and I can fix it, I fix it. Specular is a bit more difficult and I haven't had to touch any Emission yet.
If I fix something or can't fix something, I'll make a note of it.
Some Meshes with errors will be corrected if I can fix it. I'm a newb where Blender is concerned. There's a lot I don't know and a lot of things I want to do before I dedicate time to learning more. Either way, I'll make a note of it. My PC might be running on 32 GB of RAM but I feel like I'm running on 8.
Some items like fingernails and toenails lack matching swatches. If I can, I'll remedy this will either CASSwatch or CASStandalone releases.
π¦ ACCESSORIES - Glasses, Gloves, Hats, Necklaces, Piercings, Rings, Socks, Tights
ALL CONTENT RELEASES
Disabled AFR and OAFR on literally EVERYTHING except specific Cold Weather outfit accessories. NEVER again will Accessories randomize on ANY sim, EVER. The goal is no more Townies or CAS sims who look like- calling them clowns is an insult to clowns. Simmers have been lamenting about this nonsense for years and EAxis continues to AFR almost everything!
I had a neighborhood Townie generate with every accessory category, including every piercing category! Why EAxis? WHY?!
π¦ ACCESSORIES - Fingernails, Toenails
ALL CONTENT RELEASES
Disabled AFR and OAFR on literally EVERYTHING.
All nail colors with a Specular Map for shine have been tagged as Polished. There are a handful of nail colors without Specular Maps and I wanted to filter them.
SecondaryDisplayIndex has been modified for every nail with swatches out of order. I've matched the basic 15 fingernail color swatches to the basic 15 toenail swatches. It has always irked me that the colors never matched even though the swatch looks identical - the swatch colors for lilac, mauve, pink and pinkdusty are kinda similar in CAS. The fingernail and toenail colors still don't match 100% but at least they're in the correct order.
I've modified the swatch color for all ContrastLeather swatches. Instead of a solid brown, it's not three shades of brown. It's a minor thing but it looked out of place.
BG
Texture corrected for PU_ManiRoundShort (puAcc_ManiRoundShort_purple). The Deadlinesβ’ texture isn't aligned properly, resulting in the nails not getting any texture.
π¦ BODY HAIR
ALL CONTENT RELEASES
For hopefully the LAST time, I've refreshed the Body Hair overrides to include the removal of all OccultAllowForRandom flags alongside the previous removal of all AllowForRandom flags and DefaultForBodyType flags on the bald variants. My intended function of these overrides remain - the godawful low-quality infected chicken scratches will NEVER randomize on ANY sim, EVER, and the game will force the use of pre-HSY body meshes.
I need to play-test this to verify it's still valid - if the pre-HSY body meshes are used and Hair Growth is enabled, you should have the option to shave after X number of days but no Body Hair textures will ever be applied to the sim.
π¦ FACIAL HAIR
BG + I haven't completed any other content pack yet but they'll likely all have the same PartFlag configuration as BG.
All Facial Hair is AFR enabled.
All Facial Hair is OAFR enabled for Human, Merfolk, Vampire and Spellcaster.
The bald variant has had all DefaultForBodyType flags removed, meaning when randomized Facial Hair is removed, the game will use the pre-HSY face mesh. The bit under BODY HAIR about Hair Growth enabled and shaving possibly applies here.
π¦ NUDE BASE + MERFOLK TAILS
A SPECIAL NOTE FOR ALL MOD CREATORS
DO NOT RestrictOppositeGender your feet replacements. Doing so severely !@#$s with transframe sims with sculpted torsos. My sim is Male/Feminine Frame. For two years I was plagued with the issue of my waist constantly warping into an hourglass. A few hours of troubleshooting later I identified the ROG flags on the CC feet as the culprit and swapped them with ROF flags - two-year problem solved instantly.
ROF is your friend, applicable to all gender mesh-specific items.
ROG is only ever required in special circumstances.
I should put this in it's own post. I will put this in it's own post.
BG
Being revised.
EP07_IslandLiving
Surprisingly, all Merfolk tails have proper ROF flags and no double-up ROG flags. If only we could get this level of competence everywhere else!
GP12_Werewolves
Nearly every Werewolf body part has the WRONG RestrictOpposite flag but the mesh warping caused by incorrect RO flags is more complicated than initially assumed. Applying the correct ROF flags on Tops just shifts the mesh warping from Male/Feminine Frame werewolves to Female/Masculine Frame werewolves and I'm sorry but female werewolves already look bad enough with their smushed shoulders. Male werewolves can weather this issue until I find a proper solution.
Removed extra ROG flags from both female and male Fingernails.
Swapped ROG with ROF on both female and male Shoes (feet). Doing this fixes the mesh warping seen on transframe werewolves.
Incorrect ROG flags have been left as is on female and male Tops and Bottoms due to the aforementioned issues.
Removed all Fashion_Rarity and Style tags.
New swatch add-on with a modified mesh for Werewolf fingernails!
π¦ SKIN DETAILS - BODY SCAR
ALL CONTENT RELEASES
Disabled AFR and OAFR on all Body Scars. OAFR is the reason other species, e.g. Spellcasters, randomize with one of every Body Scar category.
BG
There are three Body Scars in the Base Game. One is hidden.
Re-categorized C-Section from TorsoFront to TorsoBack so it can be applied simultaneously with other TorsoFront scars. The texture has been untouched and will appear where it's meant to.
Removed ROG from SDX021TopSurgery and enabled ShowInUI on the hidden variant.
GP12_Werewolves
Unrestricted all Body Scars for all ages and species.
π¦ SKIN DETAILS - OCCULT (Brow, Cheek, Eye Lid, Eye Socket, Mouth, Neck Scar)
ALL CONTENT RELEASES
Unrestricted all Skin Details for all species.
Unrestricted all Skin Details without Infant, Toddler and Child variants for all ages.
GP04_Vampires kids can now have Vampire Occult Skin Details, huzzah!
GP04_Vampires
Texture edit for GP04BrowLarge (BrowGP04Large) to remove a spot on the left ear. I assume this was due to Deadlinesβ’ and not intended. You'd probably never notice this because of where it is, but I saw it. Yeah, I saw it! YOU CAN'T HIDE FROM ME! I'M THE JUGGERNAUT, !@#$%!
ββ π A SCANDALOUS LIST OF EAXIS DEADLINESβ’
MISC
It mildly irritates me that fingernail colors and toenail colors don't appear to match. β See the Fixes entry.
There's an issue with overlapping textures on some of the nose piercings. EAxis fixed a couple recently but they clearly didn't bother to look at the rest. I'll move this to the proper Pack entries when I verify which piercings are problematic. β
There's a number of Makeup items that aren't overlaying properly. I'll look into this eventually. β
BG
If I had started this five years ago, there would be a very mean entry right here concerning EAxis' yearslong low-quality darker skin-tone- oh shucks, this must be it!
yxBody_SDX029HalloweenOnesie (featured in the cover screenshot) are both incorrectly flagged ROG instead of ROF. HOW DARE THEY DENY ME MY FRAME-APPROPRIATE BUNNY ONESIE?! βοΈ
cmBottom_Underwear and cfBottom_Underwear_SolidTurpuoise are missing their ROG flags. This is one of the rare instances when ROG flags are necessary. ROG on the default underwear is the only way to make them work properly, otherwise both kids wear cfBottom_Underwear_SolidTurpuoise. There's an AHQ report about this that's nearly two years old. βοΈ
ymAcc_ManiFrenchTip left thumb is horrendous! ... This requires mesh editing. β
β EAxis allegedly fixed this.
puAcc_ManiRoundShort_purple's texture is not in the correct position or orientation. QUE?! WHY IS IT VERTICAL?! THE NAIL DOESN'T GET ANY TEXTURE LIKE THIS! βοΈ
PediColor - Toddlers lack matching "Solid" swatches. βοΈ
β EAxis allegedly added some, in competition with my CAS Standalone mod.
cxHair_BraidedPonyTailPlain's ShadowMap is affecting eyes. β
cxHair_BraidedPonyTail's ShadowMap is affecting eyes. β
EP07_IslandLiving
Merfolk tops, EP07Scales and EP07ScalesAsym, appear to be enabled for Werewolves. βοΈ
EP12_HighSchoolYears
ymBottom_EP12PantsBaggy's incorrect PartFlags cause a big ole gap in the tummy! β
EP14_HorseRanch
yxHair_EP14CornrowsLong red swatches ain't red, son. β
EP16_Lovestruck
yfAcc_ManiEP16Edge's fingernails are slightly misaligned. Enough for me to notice. β
There are no ManiEP16Edge fingernails for male sims. Deadlinesβ’ am I right? β
EP16UnderwearTrim's incorrect PartFlags cause a big ole gap in the tummy! βοΈ
The new costume trunk thing still equips the wrong Cupid costume to my sim even with fixed PartFlags. Must investigate. β
GP04_Vampires
yuSkinDetail_BrowGP04Large's DiffuseMap has a spot on the left ear. βοΈ
yfHair_GP04FlowersSide mesh is missing the two flowers at the front. β
GP12_Werewolves
Nearly every Werewolf body part has the WRONG RestrictOpposite flag. How has this never been fixed? Look, I understand. Transframe sims are a minority and who even plays as a werewolf, but c'mon, son! β See the Fixes entry.
Female werewolf body types look utterly stupid with their smushed shoulders. I must rektify this. β
Female werewolf Top textures were not modified to match the female mesh. The texture overlaps at the shoulder seam. I might not have enough talent with image editing to properly fix this. β
Werewolf fingernails lack additional color swatches. βοΈ
Werewolf fingernail mesh was aligned for Human fingertips and float over werewolf fingertips. Such sadments, much disappointedness. β
π° ManiGP12OvalOmbre's mesh is an EAxis Specialβ’! Congratulations! β
SP05_MovieHangout
yxHair_SP05MedWavy's mesh warps/glitches with certain face sculpts (like mine) on the right side under the comb-over bit of hair. Right is left when looking at the front of a sim in CAS. β
SP17_NiftyKnitting
yxTop_SP17KinttingFail's NormalMap is weird. It causes NormalMap glitching with some Bottoms including those that came with SP17. This is what you get for not making the hat separate! β
ymTop_SP17KinttingFail has an "incorrect" AdditionalTextureSpace, causing the NormalMap to misalign with the mesh. There's an S4S report about this.βοΈ
SP50_UrbanHomage
yfBottom_SP50Latex's ShadowMap wasn't edited to match the modified female DiffuseMap. βοΈ
