As a kid, he was frail and unathletic, so his wealthy father, Donovan (IIIrd) Wright, who sired a son to a woman he didn't marry, never took any interest in him, but still named him according to his birth order (i.e. only the firstborn of their male line CAN and MUST bear the next name) before abandoning him.
