Development Update – v0.7.4 Is Taking Shape!
Now that v0.7.3.2 is out in the wild, it's time to move on to the next milestone!
I've been hard at work on v0.7.4, and it's already turning into one of those updates that quietly improves the game in a lot of different ways. Some of the additions are big new features, while others are quality-of-life improvements that make existing systems feel much more connected.
A Complete Evolution of the Perk System
One of the biggest changes in this update is a major overhaul of Perk Cards.
Perks are now split into three categories:
Regular Perks that use your limited perk slots.
Passive Perks that can be toggled on or off without consuming a slot.
Flaws, which are optional permanent drawbacks that reward you with additional perk capacity if you're willing to live with the consequences.
This opens up far more interesting character builds than before. Want to specialize in academics? Lean into social manipulation? Become the campus sweetheart? Embrace risky behavior? There are now many more ways to shape your playstyle.
To support this system I've added:
15 brand-new Passive Perk Cards
9 new Flaw Cards
Improved perk visuals and organization
New collection filters
Better loadout management
Several balance adjustments to existing cards
I'm really excited about this redesign because it gives players much more freedom without simply making everyone stronger.
Your Dorm Room Is Finally Becoming Yours
Another feature I've wanted for quite some time is finally becoming playable.
The first version of the Dorm Decoration System is now in place.
You'll be able to collect decorations throughout the game, place them wherever you like within your room, move them around freely, and store them away whenever you want.
Different dorm tiers support different placement areas, decorations remember their positions between days, and everything renders correctly for both day and night.
This is only Tier 1 of the decoration system, but it lays the foundation for a much more personalized dorm as development continues.
Campus Life Feels More Alive
NPC interactions continue to grow.
Chance encounters can now naturally lead into existing restaurant dates, coffee outings, library study sessions, and group projects with the NPC who invited you.
Instead of feeling like isolated events, these encounters now flow into activities that already exist in the game, making campus life feel much more connected.
Reputation Now Has Consequences
One of the new systems I'm particularly happy with is the introduction of Dorm Rumors.
Repeated hookups inside your dorm room won't immediately turn into gossip, but if your character keeps inviting people over, students may eventually start noticing.
Rumors develop gradually over time and are influenced by things like:
your reputation
alcohol
nightlife
certain Perk Cards
your character's behavior
The goal isn't to punish players, it's to make the campus react more naturally to the choices you make.
Lots of Polish Behind the Scenes
As always, there's also a healthy number of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements that don't necessarily make for flashy screenshots but help the game feel smoother overall.
Small improvements add up, and I think you'll notice the difference.
Still Planned for v0.7.4
While there's already a lot going into this update, there are still a few major features I'm actively working toward before calling v0.7.4 complete.
A New Lesbian Minigame
One of the biggest additions planned for this version is a brand-new lesbian-focused minigame.
I've been talking with several lesbian friends about their own experiences and perspectives to help create something that feels authentic, playful, and respectful while still fitting naturally within the game's mechanics, and I'm confident the end result will be fun and respectful.
Expanding the First Semester Story
Story remains my highest priority.
My goal for v0.7.4 is to implement as much of the first semester as possible. Ideally I'd love to complete the entire semester, but even if that proves too ambitious, you can expect a significant amount of new story content, character interactions, and quests.
The Next Frat House
The next Frat House is also planned for v0.7.4.
After the release of the Eros Frat House in v0.7.3, I'll be opening a pledger poll to decide which House joins the game next.
Will it be:
House Ox
House Vult
House Nihil
The choice will be yours, and whichever House wins will become the next major House integration in the game.
As always, thank you all for supporting the project. Every release gets me one step closer to building the campus experience I've been imagining from the very beginning, and your feedback continues to shape that journey.
I can't wait to show you more as v0.7.4 comes together!
