Beta 0.7 Development Update – Writing, Polish & First Impressions
Hey everyone
I wanted to give you a quick but honest update on Beta 0.7 and where things currently stand.
The good news first: development is going smoothly. No major blockers, no panic fixes, no rewrites-from-hell.
The slightly less exciting news: it’s taking a bit more time than I initially expected and that’s very intentional.
Why the extra time?
For Beta 0.7, I’m putting a strong emphasis on writing quality and polish. This version sets the tone for the entire game moving forward, and I want the opening hours to feel tight, immersive, and memorable, not rushed.
Right now, my main focus is on refining the three startup scenarios:
Easy
Normal
Hard
Each of these is being treated as its own fully fleshed-out introduction, not just a difficulty toggle.
What each startup scenario includes
Each difficulty path now features:
A distinct background story that defines who your MC is and where she’s coming from
A college interview sequence that introduces the school, its tone, and its expectations
Unlock a potential early sex scene, written to feel contextual, earned, and consistent with the chosen path, while also acting as a dedicated tutorial to clearly explain how the sex minigames work.
I’m currently polishing dialogue, pacing, transitions, and scene flow, making sure choices feel meaningful and that the emotional beats land properly.
The goal
The goal here isn’t just to “add content”, but to ensure that:
Your first hours in the game feel strong
The difficulty choice actually matters narratively
The game delivers the best possible first impression, whether it’s your first playthrough or a replay on a different path
Beta 0.7 is laying important groundwork, and I want it to feel solid, confident, and replayable.

character got pregnant. Mad martin not yet appeared after 3-4 weeks. Tried getting sponsorship with Mr bentloaf but game crashes at this point - have to ignore to restart. Any clues?

You know you should make a pool maybe to know for sure but for me the writing is not that important. I like a have a good base story in the background and that's about it, the rest is progression animation and decision making. Keep up the good work tho :-)

I have been a pledger since September 2022, the only reason i keep my pledge nowadays is the almost lost hope of seeing something done in The Island.
Hey! first of all, thank you for sticking around since September 2022. That kind of long-term support really does matter, even when things aren’t moving as fast as anyone (including me) would like. You’re right: The Island is currently on hiatus. I won’t pretend otherwise or dress it up. The scope I want for that project is much higher than what I can responsibly deliver right now without the right technical foundation. That’s why my current focus is on NSFW... not because The Island was abandoned, but because I’m using this time to build skills, systems, and discipline, especially while learning Unreal Engine 5 properly. Rushing The Island back without that groundwork would only lead to a weaker game and more frustration down the line. The plan for The Island is not “resume as-is,” but a full revamp in Unreal 5 when I’m ready to do it justice. I’d rather be honest about the pause than keep pushing shallow updates just to say something is happening. That said, I completely understand if that means The Island isn’t the reason you’re pledging right now. I hold no hard feelings about that and I genuinely appreciate the patience you’ve shown so far. When I do return to The Island, it’ll be with real momentum, not promises. Thanks again for being here this long whether you stay or not, I’m grateful for the support you’ve already given ❤️
