Shorty (Killer Klowns from outer space) 🤡

Part 1

The Klowns' Hunger

Beyond the cold stars and the silent void, where the universe kept its oldest nightmares locked away, a ship drifted. It was not a vessel of steel and logic, but of painted canvas and mad geometry. A carnival ship, its colors swirling even in the absence of light, propelled not by fuel but by something more primal.

Emotion.

For ages, the Klowns had danced through the cosmos, siphoning the energy of laughter. A giggle could send them skimming across solar winds, a belly laugh could carry them light-years. But laughter had its limits—genuine mirth was fleeting, easily exhausted. And the Klowns had needs, ever-growing appetites that laughter alone could no longer satisfy.

Then they discovered something new. Something stronger.

Fear.

Shorty sat atop a teetering stack of crates in the ship’s engine bay, juggling a set of shrunken heads, their eyes wide with frozen terror.

“So,” he mused, “turns out people laugh for a couple seconds, but scream for hours. That’s a way better return on investment!”

Jumbo, the ship’s mechanic, honked his bulbous nose and nodded. “Laughter’s like eating cotton candy. Sweet, but it vanishes. Fear? Fear is like a deep-fried turkey leg—hearty, lasts forever, and might even kill you.”

The Ringmaster had seen it first. A world drenched in emotions, raw and untamed. A species that had spent millennia crafting horror stories, inventing monsters under their own beds, seeking out haunted houses just for the thrill. It was almost too easy.
