The Mummy WIP
Hello dear patrons!馃
I hope you're all doing well! I wanted to share a WIP of the Mummy with you. This has been a project close to my heart, and I鈥檝e poured a lot of effort into capturing the eerie elegance of Boris Karloff鈥檚 legendary performance. I've been thinking about the composition and decided to base it on the iconic shot where he emerges from his sarcophagus after a very long sleep.
While researching the character's history, I discovered an interesting fact: the prototype for the Mummy in all the movies was the Egyptian philosopher Imhotep, whose tomb has never been found. This means his sarcophagus is purely fictional.
I decided to include the sarcophagus behind him to add a sense of grandeur and majesty to his image. It makes the composition look more complete and helps convey where he came from and the centuries he has endured.
Thank you all for your continued support. I can鈥檛 wait to share the final piece with you! And feel free to share your finished prints with me; I love seeing your work!馃槏

Looking good! Will the back of the sarcophagus have any detailing?
Thank you so much!馃 The back will be flat like the original sarcophagi, so you can lay it down if you want. The sides will have ornaments as well! I tried to find references for this particular sarcophagus, but I discovered that Imhotep's tomb is still missing.
Looks amazing looking forward to painting this one. Love the coffin too.
