DevTalk: Main Character’s Home (Hub)

Today, we want to walk you through one of the core elements of the game experience: the Main Character’s Home, which acts as the central HUB.

What is the Hub?
The protagonist’s home is the place where the player starts and ends the day.

What can you do in the Hub?
• Inside the hub, the player can:
• End the day (via a button, bed, or objects like a wall clock)
• Leave the house (via a door or UI button)
• Check the inventory
• Rewatch unlocked scenes using the laptop
• Use the smartphone
• Interact with a statue that provides hints or guidance

Let's begin your new day on the Beach
At the beginning of the day, you can interact with all hub activities, but cannot leave until you trigger a required story event.
Once the required event is triggered, you regain freedom (you can stay in the hub or leave at any time).

At the end of the day, you can use all hub features, but you cannot end the day until all required story events are completed.
Once everything is done, the “End Day” action becomes available, triggering the transition to the next day.

Features in Development (Not in Current Release)
We’re also exploring several additional features to expand the hub:
Music Player: control background music inside the house
Chibi Achievements Display: collectible character figures tied to milestones
Interactive Objects: like dishes pile with animations and comments
“Talking Head”: a mysterious object offering hints or cryptic predictions
Posters: either decorative, humorous, or Easter eggs
Scene Replay System: dedicated interface for revisiting content

We are trying to ensure that the Hub is designed to balance freedom and narrative control.
Sometimes it gives you space to explore and interact. Other times, it becomes part of a tightly directed story moment.

We’re currently refining the hub layout and interactions, and a sketch version is already in progress.

If there’s a specific feature you’d like us to dive deeper into, let us know in the comments.
