Devlog 02.05.2026 - Legwear, Sound, Gender Upgrades
Hey, it's Sifa :D
And sorry, no update this week. But I have good news - we are pushing for a bigger update, v0.3.0. Going to add some sound, more enemies, longer arena campaign, player progression, and maaaybe new item types.
Issues with the Avatar
So, I'm working on adding new item type - legwear. And the main idea that some legwear items should be transparent. Like tights, stockings, etc.
Sounds simple, but in reality it's very annoying. You see, I cut items into parts, so I can work with them more precisely, make more accurate movements, and adjust to body TF more easily. That's ok.
The problem is that when I make the items transparent, the areas where they overlap are noticeably visible... And no matter how thin I make these overlapping areas, how precise I am - the seams are still visible. We've spent a few days just testing different solutions to that issue and we haven't found any yet...
So I don't know what to do. Making them not transparent, like our other clothes, obviously solves the issue, but means I can't show anything underneath (like underwear, when I get to that). Or I could decide to live with these annoying seams... They're almost invisible on some Zoom levels, but at other levels they are very distracting.
I'd say for the sake of productivity I'm going to make them non-transparent for now. Maybe later I can find a better solution to this problem.
Also, I can still have transparency in the areas where different parts don't touch each other. So partial transparency is still fine.
Sound
We finally tested some sounds and started to build systems to deal with that. Because again, there were some issues on the way. Like how to interrupt the sounds when another animation was forced to play, how to deal with the different characters, and so on.
We've decided to try adding Voice transformation to the player character. Player will have their own voice in 3 variations: male, femboy, and female. We'll also adjust the pitch of each variation for better smoothness between those.
NPCs will have their own voices too, but without transformation, because unfortunately it's too much work. I doubt we can do it. So we'll have a small pool of NPC voices, 2-3 voices per gender, and we'll assign one of those to each NPC as appropriate.
And yeah, even with this plan, it's still a lot of work to sift through a library of audio samples and tag animations with them. So I will add sound step by step, a few animations at a time. The experience might be ragged at first.
Upgrade System
So, the player doesn't have a good progression system yet. I mean, sure we have Body transformation and Deck transformation (kind of mental transformation, if you think of it like "actions that I want to perform change over time"). But I want something better.
So we are implementing a Gender Upgrade system. By using cards of different genders you can earn Experience Points in this gender. Then in some special events you can spend these experience points to improve yourself. Improve maximal stress or arousal. Improve HP by allowing your body to be transformed further, and some other stuff.
Oh, yeah, about Player Transformation. Currently, you can be fully transformed from the start of the game. In the next update, that won't be possible. At the beginning you will have a maximum of roughly 20 or 30 TF points, so even when fully transformed you will still be quite masculine. You will need to "upgrade" each body part and their transformation limits to be able to transform further. Not that you want to, you can still avoid being transformed if you win. But if you take damage - well, you might grow some boobs or so :D
So, this way player gets some control over their transformation. But sure, upgrades won't be just upgrades. You will have to make decisions. Most likely these decision will have impact on your Opponents.
Longer Campaigns
v0.3.0 is like a new build for us. We want to start making tools and systems that will help us to create Campaign structures without too much coding. We already have a pretty promising design draft, so in all 0.3.x versions we'll be improving the Arena and test different things there.
The goal is to make campaigns longer, so player has enough time to upgrade everything, or make a cool build, or even grind, and so on. It will be possible thanks to "decisions" you make. Also outcome of the fights will matter more, losing is also a choice xD
At the same time, we want to allow you to "rush through" a campaign, though with some extra risk involved, of course.
And yeah, we are finally implementing one-timers - opponents without long progression, which are fully transformed during a single battle and have different transformation goals, different cards and items.
Next update on Friday, cya :D
