Oh yeah, I totally feel this. But it changes. My 8 and youngers play Roblox still, but my 10 and up tend to play PC or console games.
No Roblox or online games in my house. My 8yo son is totally into Minecraft and Switch games. I know I can't protect him from this internet stuff forever and it keeps me up at night sometimes. Will have to prep him soon I guess. But for now, live is good! :)
I am glad my 6yo daughter plays Minecraft and super Mario 1 on my custom build game boy.
As Karsten said: that's gotta hurt! If I ever have kids and they have a similar reply, I'll disown them on the spot! :)
Kids play what they are "fed" by the "influencers". Would Minecraft, Roblox, and may the gaming gods pardon me for naming the unnamable fortnite if there was not such bashing around on social media about them? Guess why? Those games are "fun" to play but even more fun to watch being played and this means kashing for the influencers and the announcers.
Much as I loathe fortnite, in a roundabout way, it is one of the best things to happen for video games in awhile. Before you hurl stones at me, hear me out: it has finally brought games into being considered much more normalized, AND, it has finally made esports be considered a very real thing in the US. The effects of this spreading out has also helped esports in other industries of games that have struggled in this country whereas it has succeeded in Asia, so, while I fully say it is not for me, I recognize and appreciate that it IS good for the industry as a whole
Poor Tim, that's gotta hurt!
I too feel this on the exact same level. God bless her Roblox playing soul... but it hurts ever so much.
