Uhh... new books are now on Kickstarter!
So I am a massive dumbass, and accidentally launched the Kickstarter campaign for the new book collections. They approved it, and I thought I was setting up a pre-launch landing page, and suddenly the whole thing was live.
YOLO, I guess. Anyway, I was going to spend the next week talking about all of the work I'd put into these books, etc etc and hyping them up for an early February launch date, and now I've put the cart in front of the horse. The campaign is live, it explains what each book is, and what to expect, so we'll see what happens.
There is an early bird discount for supporting all three books, and as my Patrons I'd wanted to give you a heads up about it beforehand. The link to the campaign is below. You guys have always been tremendous in your support of my work and keeping me going, and I'm eternally grateful. I'm hoping that my work is something you'd like to own in book-form, and if so you help in getting these made would be massively appreciated.

I supported as a placemarker for now - My one question is, I realize PDF digital copies come with the books, but do we have to wait all the way until September to get them? I realize the books will take awhile to print and ship, but will the PDFs be available sooner than that?
Good question. I'm not sure yet but... probably not? I could foresee potentially releasing those sometime between when the books go to print, and when they start shipping. I'll give it some thought.
I eagerly await getting this set to go next to the previous one that I still flip thorough every once in a while to reminisce.
I see you've got "back one book" and "back all three books", is there a way I can back two books? Probably too niche to put all two-book combos on there, but maybe an "extra add-on option" or whatever it's called where someone can pledge for one book and buy the add-on of a second book?
Yeah I'm looking into that now. I may just do it as an add-on option in the pledge manager after the campaign.
Pledged! I missed out on the first kickstarter, so happy I could get in on this one!
Yay, got one of the early birds :-) This will have a place on my shelf next too the 1.0 Trilogy.
As much as I would LOVE to add this to the collection, in the process of buying a house and really can't afford it atm...if only it was 2 months from now lol
Just pledged all three as the others have as well. Don't sweat that it was early, just means it was time!
Done, A little head-up would have been nice :) but hey it is what it is. I 've been waiting for this one for quite some time now
Yes, I too would have liked more of a heads up XD
Just pledged for all three books, already have the previous work you have produced, can't wait for this to become reality and stare at me from the shelf above my computer! :)
Done. Happy to support you and the excellent work you do. I know getting your comics every week brings me a bit of joy, so this just seems like an obvious purchase.
Hey Tim, can I send you the money directly (e.g. by PayPal)? After some bad experiences I wan to avoid Kickstarter. I would go for all three books.
Uhh, not at the moment, no... I certainly don't want to collect any funds until I'm certain we'll be able to print the books. However if the campaign IS successful, I expect there will be a sort of "late pledge" option via our pledge manager, at which point you could probably preorder some books while circumventing Kickstarter.
Backed for all three. They will proudly sit next to my CAD version 1.0 individual books, the big version 1.0 compendium, the CAD DVDs, maquettes, and Zeke plushies. Yes, I have a problem, I like supporting content I enjoy! :-)
Yessss! Awesome, looking forward to it, the first one already has a quite prominent place in my living room :)
Backed Tim- I look forward to going through the publishing and shipment process with you all 👌😁
Well I gave in. I just hope shipping to Canada doesn't break the bank. Loved the last set and it will be nice to read things like the console wars in one go instead of between other stuff
Reasonable shipping is a priority for me. The difference between a book sent to Canada from the US, and a bunch of books shipped to Canada and then individually shipped from there is pretty big. So if we get enough orders that it's viable to freight them as a group, we will definitely work that out.
Okay last comment, I swear. Just want to say that I am super excited to get the 2006 version of Analog and D-pad as well. I still have the "comic book" original versions of these, and am glad to be able to have a hardcover version as well as the unreleased one!
Yeah I didn't put them in the 1.0 Box set, partly due to their size ratio, and partly because I felt they would be a much better fit for the first Analog and D-Pad book :)
Ahh.... International Shipping be damned... At least I won't be breaking my back carrying your previous kickstarter from the post office back home, 5km...
I know. I may have to ship to friends in the US and then carry home on the airplane when I visit.
I would like to support, but my bookshelves are already groaning under the stress of all the books I own (have had to repair them several times because one shelf or another has given out to the weight). Couple of years ago I made a decision to not buy any physical book, only ebooks. Is there any possibility of adding a reward tier for the PDF's alone?
At some point, yes digital will be an option.
Neat! I suppose here's a place to ask: Do you think you'll ever do a collected Console Wars?
The console wars are in one of the books: "Ctrl+Alt+Del 2.0"
Can't wait to get them
That was the fastest I have backed anything. I didn't even read what it said. Just selected the highest tier.
Also, I was a bit surprised that I got the notification from Kickstarter before hearing anything from you. I actually thought, "I wonder if he meant to do that...." but it all looked complete.
