I did not actually go buy a Switch 2... it remains the only "new console" that I have not bought on release since the Xbox 360. However, I did do some serious mental gymnastics trying to justify its purchase for Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave.
I know I've talked about this in the past, but the Switch just isn't my jam. I picked up an original Switch, never refreshed it for the OLED or anything, and would occasionally dust it off for an exclusive. But just not enough that I felt I needed to pay so much for a slightly better version (that until now had nothing I needed to play).
But as much as I'd like to play Fire Emblem, a console has to have more than one game every year or two to make it worth its while. So I'm going to keep fighting this nagging need to throw $500 at a fancy paperweight that sometimes powers on.

I noped out of consoles with this whole generation. The only reason I caved and bought a PS5 was because I have one of the PS4 Pro units that sounds like a rocket taking off even after a complete cleaning and new thermal compound/pads. I was sick of needing sound-cancelling headphones to play most things on it.
LOL... I'm thinking the same thing about the Ocarina of Time
So responsible
My problem is that the Switch 2 has Wii U vibes. What I mean by that is six years after Wii launched, Nintendo released Wii U. Not even five years later they dropped the next gen. I don’t want to drop the money only to turn around and find the next-gen dropping soon after.
Let me introduce you to my friend: Xenoblade Chronicles
Metroid Ravenous and Orbitals are worth it.
Hey at least you can play the Ocarina remake, Metroid Ravenous, and a bunch of other exclusives now. Don't sleep on Yoshi and the Mysterious Book too
The game that almost got me was Orbitals. But there is just so little I want to play on Switch, either it gets a port or my giant backlog will get me over missing out on this one very cool looking game.
For me, the Switch was always the best second console to have next to PC gaming. But I'm not supporting Nintendo anymore, so no Switch 2.
Missing word? "I'm going to /be/ responsible"
Got it.
