Late watching this reaction, but just want to say, Mike, that I watched Tenet twice and still didn't understand what was happening properly, I just couldn't wrap my head around it and I watch a LOT of sci-fi. I had to look it up in the end, and guess what? I'm still not 100% on it. I can't tell if it's just a bad plot full of holes, or if my brain is just full of holes these days 😆 OR ... maybe the film isn't supposed to be understood 100% to make people talk about it ... Clever bastards!

How much Coleman’s mustard are we sending Mike

d
david mitchell · September 18, 2026

Yeah tenet is absolutely shit

K
Kieran B · September 17, 2026

With the rhyming slang it was picked because it was the first thing that popped into someone’s head, the same way new ones are invented now, and they just catch on

K
Kieran B · September 17, 2026

James definitely gets the Matrix

A
Alex · September 16, 2026

To be fair it would be quite boring to watch Wang fill up a bucket of water for 6 minutes.

C
Colin Reid · September 12, 2026

Weirdly my first experience with the Matrix was trying to watch it at home (in those insane days where you used to still watch movies with your parents) where my drunk mum was giving a rambling commentary throughout and completely ruined it. All the time I was thinking... wow... this is actually quite good... mum have you ever heard of Gnosticism or indeed Plato's Cave

Paul F. · September 12, 2026

Regarding the episode that was skipped because of audio issues. What about releasing it as a Patreon exclusive as it was? We'd still get to see your facial expressions and who you picked each task

ybriK · September 12, 2026

I reckon there's a chance Phil didn't know about being a bit showey, i'm the same when I wear joggers but never noticed till a girlfriend told me when I was in my mid 20's

A
Ahmer Baig · September 11, 2026

Speaking of drastic change in appearance, talk about S22. IYKYK.

J
Jamaine Lapsley · September 11, 2026

The editing isnt off its purposefully to bring people up and shoot them back down for the comedic side of the show

D
Dan Anderson · September 11, 2026

TENET is easy to understand, when you figure out it's TENET backward

S
Skinny_Obelix · September 11, 2026

Oh God, Tenet, I don't think there's much to get. I think it's just an experiment gone wrong. He thought it would end up interesting but it didn't, just jan exercise in creative film making, but forgetting to make a good movie.

S
Shuayb · September 10, 2026

"should have come out with a boner" - hahaha fgs

J
Jonoridge · September 10, 2026

Love me some Rhod Gilbert. He's so good.

M
Mark McKeown · September 10, 2026

Mike wants real time footage of all tasks lol

E
Elisha · September 10, 2026

Was he named Ollie because he weighs 31.770kg, was he modified after the fact to make his weight match his name, was it just an insane cosmic coincidence, or was it all a lie and he doesn't actually weigh that much?

C
Chris Harper · September 10, 2026

Mike, if it’s English mustard, you might be in trouble smearing that all over your face and body……..edit ..just watched Rhod ffs, there are at least two idiots in the world, one in U.K. one in Florida

C
CONALL MCLAUGHLIN · September 10, 2026

To be fair... Every outside scene had a close up of ollie so there was some hints lol

E
El, as in The · September 10, 2026

For all Rhod's joking, he's such a nice guy irl. I met him once. He was hanging around outside the toilets of an event he was hosting, which sounds quite seedy, but it was where you stood before going on stage. I said hello, but refrained from shaking his hand, even though I had washed my hands after the bathroom, I didn't want him to be worrying about whether I had or not haha. It was a charity event to raise money for a kid with cancer and he was hosting it for free. Baring in mind he came from Wales or wherever he lives, up to Blyth near Newcastle.

tania P. Bear · September 10, 2026

Rhod and Greg, are very close friends from way back, hence the banter. This was so much fun, as always, thanks for the laughs you guys.

L
LizzieB · September 10, 2026

Tenet is what I would have brought too Mike. Saw it in the cinema with my family and I came out with a headache. We spent the whole drive home trying to understand and explain our understanding of it to eachother and wow, yeah. Not a relaxing evening 🤣

A
Andy · September 10, 2026

I love when Kerry is competitive

J
JamieD Game Modding · September 10, 2026

Rhod was very unlucky,if the switch was controlling something directly rather than simply something happening when it's switched on,his idea would have been perfect.

Normally I enjoy watching your reactions and I enjoy watching other peoples reactions to Taskmaster in particular. I know you are taking a break from Taskmaster after this series, but I just wanted to say that it is starting to feel less of a reaction and more of watching you take part in a quiz. Taskmaster is a "silly" comedy show. It has 7 comedians on every episode, it doesn't need anything extra to fill time. 95% of the time the comedians are simply trying to be funny, its never about the points - eg Rhod using the same photo to annoy Greg. With you trying to predict how people will do in tasks and then keep score, it sort of clashes with the energy of the show. Just enjoy the silliness! I know you have been getting some abuse recently on other series about your reactions and I don't want this to feel like that. But it is feeling like this is moving away from your normal reactions. I hope this comes across as constructive criticism and nothing else

T
Thomas Lycett · September 11, 2026

imagine being triggered about people having fun.

L
Lolly · September 10, 2026

We don't know the origin of Olly, olly oxen free. There are two theories: 1 it likely evolved from an older English phrase like "all ye, all ye outs in free" or "all the outs are free". Over time, kids misheard and sped up the words through regular play. This meant that anyone who was "out" of the safe zone could return without penalty. 2. it comes from a mispronunciation of the German phrase "Alle, alle auch sind frei," which translates to "everyone, everyone also is free."

A
Adam Hawl · September 10, 2026

That was the most awkward yet hilarious ending to a reaction 🤣

S
Simon Charlie · September 10, 2026

Alex called the knight statue Olilie earlier in this episode (during the switch task) for the audience's benefit, but he would have been sure to mention it to all the contestants throughout the show before this task too - we just dont see them all. Tenet is very confusing film and there are def certain bits I still cant work out (the car chase in particular). I do think, even with its own lore/rulebook, some of the mechanics are simply impossible - but I dont mind because I love mindbenders and it was possibly my fav cinema experience ever (empty cinema (Covid) and stoned af).

P
Paul Brooks · September 10, 2026

"What does water weigh?" 🤦

L
Lolly · September 10, 2026

1g per mL.

A
Ahmer Baig · September 10, 2026

Just open the box you pussy is one of my most favourite moment of Taskmaster. Greg on teacher mode. For everyone else Greg is the Taskmaster but for Rhod he is the best friend he can humiliate.

D
David · September 10, 2026

It is so wild that the only two people globally to want to use the mustard like that, have now been a contestant on Taskmaster series 7, or reacted to it. 😄

A
Alexander Page · September 10, 2026

Apparently, Rhod and Greg are friends. That’s why he keeps ribbing him.

J
Jake Hamilton · September 11, 2026

They've known each other since being lads

P
Paul Liversage · September 10, 2026

And remember...its edited for laughs...so making Phil look like he did well then shooting him down with the time works well

O
Orlando Trustfull · September 10, 2026

Also, every episode would be about 3 hours long if there was no clever editing. The production and editing teams on Taskmaster are massively important to the show and the crew don't get enough credit. The amount of tasks that look absolutely beautiful, when all the contestants did was something really simple, say for instance, throw a potato into a hole...

c
colin mills · September 10, 2026

that box is called a wonderfool box they do a clear plastic one online and one of the best 5 quid I've spent makes people so frustrated specially when some people can do it and the others can't

D
David · September 10, 2026

I will look forward to offering the online store 3 quid later. 😄

P
Paul Liversage · September 10, 2026

Wang claims he didn't know how revealing the costume was until the team tasks....olly olly oxen free is traditional childhood cry to say games over...origin unknown.possibly German or American

J
Julian · September 10, 2026

I got half an hour into Tenet before I gave up because I was confused from the beginning.

l
lewis mcmurray · September 10, 2026

“I don’t understand what to do…” “Why have you only used shoes?” One of my all time favourite TM quotes 😂

M
Max Power · September 10, 2026

In the Taskmaster Podcast Phil said he was genuinely not aware of the anatomical consequences of the Bruce Lee suit. Only at the first team task where James and Rhod pointed it out. Even the crew did not tell him until that point.

B
Brill Smith · September 10, 2026

actually you could have seen they moved ollie they showed you the statue from the same angle several times and it was facing a different direction :P

A
Alexander Page · September 10, 2026

A lot of rhyming slang is understandable through context. I’m not cockney and didn’t grow up hearing that slang used, but I did grow up with OFaH. I understood most of the terms through usage. Butcher’s obviously meant look just through how it’s used, even though it was years later that I learned that it was rhyming slang for butcher’s hook. I suppose the show is intentionally written that way so that non-Londoners can understand it.

O
Orlando Trustfull · September 10, 2026

I've been in and around East London my entire life so I grew up with it. The thing is a lot of the references change over time. For instance, the slang for "Shit" used to be Eartha Kitt, but obviously the younger generations have no idea who she is. Just going for an Eartha, became a "Brad" etc

S
Sean · September 10, 2026

I havent been watching Taskmaster too closely but I wonder if Mike and Jess recognised Jessica Knappett from Inbetweeners?

G
Gem · September 10, 2026

They have!

A
Alexander Page · September 10, 2026

Greg went into teacher mode there.

O
Orlando Trustfull · September 10, 2026

"Ah just open the box you pussy" - When you accidentally blurt out an intrusive thought 😬 I also love Alex just casually opening and closing the box then handing it to Greg. I'd be angry too.

A
Alexander Page · September 10, 2026

Alex had obviously taken time to learn how to open it just for that moment.

P
Paul Brooks · September 10, 2026

A C.V. is a resume. 👍

C
Cyrus1 · September 10, 2026

"Oh, just open the box, you pussy..."

C
Cyrus1 · September 10, 2026

Naked Greg confuses me too.
