Only when he lies to make himself seem better than he is, does his nose grow. If Pinocchio's just side-stepping an embarrassing tale of almost being eaten is it okay, in eyes of his nose.

Ok but isn't sidestepping an embarrassing tale the same as lying to make yourself seem better or?

i mean, I guess so but it never even comes up as a possibility in this part of the book.

Boy for a little piece of dough, that cap lasted a lot longer than it had any right to.
