VC - Proper Shaders Has Evolved
UPDATE 05 October: I'm still working on today's release and finishing a few more adjustments. I've already spent over 18 hours working on the project today. The release will be out by 11:30 PM Hawaii time (HST), or sooner.
As I mentioned a few months ago, I decided to migrate Proper Shaders for VC and III to DirectX 11 to support modern shaders and techniques. Throughout this past month, I worked solo on the Vice City version, recreating Proper Shaders entirely from scratch.
I spent countless sleepless nights and collapsed several times from exhaustion. I managed to accomplish about 3 to 5 months' worth of updates in a single month by working over 15 hours a day on it.
A lot has changed, and several features are superior to what is seen in the San Andreas version—such as a new PBR atmosphere built from scratch, more advanced cloud techniques, and a new ocean shader with liquid physics simulation.
Since this is a massive update and as I mentioned, I did it alone while also being hindered by several days without power at home—I don't think it's a good idea to update the mod today. I still want to polish, optimize, and add even more features, so I’ve decided to move the mod's release to October 5th, This will also help distance it from the San Andreas version's release date, giving me more time to work on the different versions of the mod (I also help with SA version).
I would love to show a more teasers, images of the mod's progress and explain in depth what has changed, but unfortunately, there are extremely dishonest people copying our ideas, features, and methods, replicating them using AI in competing graphics mods. Everything I’ve done in Proper Shaders is the result of countless hours of effort and studying graphics research papers, with methods carefully devised over many days. If I show more about the mod now, they’ll copy it and release the features before I do (this already happend in previous months). I loved to talk about the progress and my ideas on our discord server, but sadly, I will have to stop because of those people.
Regarding III, the focus is currently entirely on the VC version; I will update the III as soon as I can.
I know waiting is frustrating, but rest assured—those extra days will be well worth it.
And for those who like the PS2 filter, you will be able to play with it.

Super excited for this! Thank you for your hard work and hope all is well <3
Hi. That's good there is update comming. Looking forward to it! On the previous version I had an issue that all windows on non-stock vehicles were gray and not transparent. Maybe someone has a solution how to set configuration parameters to overcome this (except of solutions like "re-made these vehicles windows materials in 3dsmax") ?
I spent countless sleepless nights and collapsed several times from exhaustion. I managed to accomplish about 3 to 5 months' worth of updates in a single month by working over 15 hours a day on it. - You and Junior really love to dramatize things—collapsing, fainting, staying up all night, not walking, not eating, not even breathing... It’s as if the Plagues of Egypt have descended on the both of you.
I really don't understand why you support my page just to keep sending hate messages. This is not the first time, but for sure it will be the last. I will be blocking you (but will wait until other people be able to read my reply). My github page for the mod has 210 commits, all done this month. By the commit 50 the mod was already good enough to release, but I kept adding more features. Literally before going to sleep I made a wind shader for the vegetation and san andreas models support (the mod can now load san andreas models with day prelight, night prelight, vertex alpha). I will be posting evidence of that on our discord server, since patreon won't allow videos and image uploads on comments. Yesterday I didn't sleep, today I sleept only 6 hours. All my time is being invested in this project. My github commit history and discord messages are a proof of that. I was going to make a image collage of my messages on discord talking about how tired I feel and a full log of my github commit schedulle, but why would I waste even more time to prove a point to a person like you?. But I will post a quick video of my commits history from 2 days ago, in that case I was working on the mod from midnight until 3 in the afternoon, and I only stopped because the power kept cutting out, and they didn't fix it until late in the evening. The mod already looks good enough. Why would I bring vertex colors, vertex alpha and wind shader (with adapted models) now? Why would I do that now instead of waiting until the next month? this update of the mod DO HAVE months worth of updates, it's a fact. I didn't need to keep working on the mod, I didn't need to keep polishing and optimizing it, I could leave all that for the next month. I keep working on this and pushing my limits because it's a project that I love doing. But sadly people like you allways shows up trying to destroy my joy into working on those projects. For years I'm dealing with various personal issues, my mother’s health problems and my own. Please, just leave me alone. I don’t understand why there’s so much obsession and hatred directed at me, I did nothing to you.
nice
