General update #2!
Hello, friends!
Because of your truly incredible support, the Patreon goal has been achieved, and I have been able to finally upgrade my hardware! When I published the first Release of the game just a few months ago, I would never expect Star Periphery to attract so much interest and support. And so fast! For this (and so much more!), I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you all so much!
All the parts arrived just two days ago, both of which I have spent by building the new rig. However, as it is proper for April's Fools' Day, it seems that there might be some faulty parts (the dreaded orange DRAM light on the motherboard). I am currently trying to find out what is causing the issue. I was planning to surprise you with some nice new renders, but no such luck, I'm afraid. Until I fix it, we are back to our regular programming!
But let's focus on the more exciting stuff. What will the hardware upgrade mean for Star Periphery?
Generally, it can be summed up into three points:
1) Much higher quality renders
There is still a LOT of room for improvement regarding the game's visuals, especially on the side of graphical fidelity. Once my new computer is running, I will be able to give all the scenes much better lighting with a greater amount of detail. The locations could be way bigger, with all those nice effects like proper volumetric lights/fog/refraction, etc. This applies to both the environments and all those spicy fun scenes we are all here for - like more common three(four, five!)somes!
2) Greater character models details
While I already started with this process in the last technical update, I fully plan on continuing this effort. As mentioned before, among the many examples could be much better nipple models for all of my characters and additional custom details for each character - like breast stretchmarks for Tess, a better muscle map for Lise & Amira, breast veins for Iris, more detailed bulging cock veins for the ladies, etc. On top of that, I will also be able to use models with more subdivisions (=more realistic, rounded shapes), higher-resolution textures, and more advanced body effects, like skin translucency and such. I will also be able to simulate cloth and fluids more efficiently.
3) Faster workflow
This one is not so spicy, but no less important. With new hardware, I will be able to work faster and more efficiently. This not only opens the doors to (hopefully!) faster development regarding the visuals but also to more sex scene variations and generally much more detailed and fluid gameplay.
The best part? I plan on implementing all of these into Release 3.
So, what is the plan now? I will try to make my new computer finally boot (or find out the faulty part) during the weekend. Failing that, I will have to return the part(s) the next week. One way or another, I would like to have it running as fast as possible, so I can finally start working on the game.
So, thank you all again for your generous and amazing support, and sorry for the short technical interruption!
And, as always, if you have any questions, ideas, or any kind of feedback, please let me know!
PS: If you have some computer fixing experience and want to help, please let me know as well!

Amazing news! Very excited for R3 to come out. Will there be any added content to the gloryhole setting? :)
Not in R3, I'm afraid. But in the release afterward, there will be some gloryhole action again!

U da best
Thank you, Jacky!
Maybe too obvious, but whenever I build a new rig and it doesn't work, nine times out of ten it's the RAM sticks not perfectly inserted in their slotseven though they feel and look like they are ... but I'm sure you've already thought of that.
Yeah, I did. I suspect the motherboard, or more precisely, that something is wrong with the BIOS.
