Release 3 Progress Update #1 (+tiny bit of screenshots!)
It's Throbbing Thursday, and that means it is high time for a first progress report for Release 3!
So let's do a breakdown, just like with Release 2.

Lise Day 2:

Renders: 10%
Spaceport Day 2:

Mines Day 2:

Spaceship Graveyard Mission 1:

Other scenes (Eleanor, lore-related content, etc.):
Writing: 10%
Renders: 10%
Technical:
R2 (known) bugs: 100%
R2 text corrections: 50%
Soundtrack & sounds: 10%
All in all, the work continues as planned. It is still too early to give you a concrete estimate, but I would like the development to take about the same time as work on R2 did. In case of any issues, I will, of course, inform you!
From the other (amazing!) news, there is a high probability of upgrading my hardware very soon. Fingers crossed, but it should happen. The incredible changes this could bring to the Star Periphery (especially in the visuals department) are too difficult to even count!
And, as always, in case of any questions, suggestions, or ideas, please do not hesitate to contact me!

I didn't realise I needed Tessa wearing casual clothes in my life. Looks awesome.
She looks soooo fine is those clothes. Really looking forward to the next update as always, and hoping you can upgrade your hardware to treat us with even better content !
Tess is a flannel lady. You'll see more dresses like that in the future!
You da best
Jacky, you are quickly becoming one of my life's certainties! Thank you!
How long do these renders usually take? I know it depends on lighting and reflections, but in general, do you nail these renders off the first go or does it take a few times to get it perfect? Looking forward to R3 and always excited after these screenshot sneak peeks!
The renders like these usually take 1-3 hours (+making the scene). I try to heavily optimize my scenes, and I cut corners a lot with post-production (I think I have a fairly good denoising routine), which helps, but it rarely gets under an hour+. I would say I usually make the renders on the first go, although from time to time, I have to rework some mistake that is too difficult to fix with Photoshop later on. Obviously, this takes a lot of previewing. Both of these will be helped a lot with the new hardware!
R3 Looks and sounds amazing my hats off to you, your work so far has been brilliant.
Thank you!
